Super Jet Im new to xh20. Got a brand new 2010 sj. Have a couple questions.

A little about myself. My name is Dee. I have a 93' 750sx that i've been rockin on for about 4 years now. I always had fun ridding it but knew it was time to step up to the plate. So I bought a 2010 sj. Holy ..... so much fun. I've had a perma grin for about 2 weeks now. I've been to the river with her about 4 times now. Im learning to carve and how she handles. Its so different then my old ski I feel like im learning all over again and lovin it. I noticed something that has me concerned. When I jump out of the water I get a nasty vibration and sound. It also happens when I come out of a corner and leave the water for a split second. It almost sounds like the impeller is rubbing on something. When its in the water or running out of the water theres no sound. I'm not sure if I should open her up to investigate or if its still just breaking in and needs some time for everything to meld together. Ive been thinking about getting a blowsion pole spring. If I get a spring, is a pole limiter a must. I have second thoughts about drilling holes in the dash of my new girl. A B pipe from what ive been reading is the way to go but for now I want to learn the ski well before I start modding. Is there anything I should do right away to keep the ski reliable and mechanically sound? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Can't say much about the vibration but a limiting rope is not a must with a pole spring. If you plan on riding in the surf then I would suggest a limiting rope that way if the waves are rolling your ski it won't over extend the pole.

you could pull your pump pretty easily to check to see if anything is in there. Like 94sj said about the spring and rope . a b pipe is the way to go , and will not hurt your realiability... read this forum , enjoy that new ski , and get ready to live!

Thankx for the responses
I will get the spring then. Also looking at the pro-tec pro plus throttle. The stock throttle feels cheap and alot of slack in it. Also looking for some new grips. I like to ride with no gloves and think I would like a softer grip but not to mushy feeling. Any suggestions?

my advise would be to pull that stock turf on the bottom before you hurt your self. that stock turf is garbage. usually guys do a full turf job when they install foot holds but IMO until you do holds you should just get some b-stock turf from hydro-turf, its cheap for just that piece, or maybe some one from the PNW could hook you up for free for the bottom for the time being.

Oury grips over ODI all day.

Things to do in order
Bilge (a must do)
hooker prop
B pipe
head

Fixed steer hood! Thats just me.....
