i dont have the time or money to paint it /w a real gun... its getting a rattle can job for now... this way i wont be too worried about ruining it... if parts were free this ski would have been done the day i started on it, but im a broke college student, ive got two jobs and a girlfriend too... i dont have much time... ill post pics when the paint is dry

This stuff is time consuming! anyways, its coming along... i figured i would post a few more updated pictures for your enjoyment, i know nobody really cares about this build thread and i blame that on myself... heres something exciting though... I am now the proud owner of the new x7 trim system from xft... The only american to have one, cool huh? check out the throw on this baby! (pic attatched) This thing is almost ready for assembly... good!

im going to repaint it, when i foamed it i tried to cover up the hole /w my hand so that it would go everywhere inside rather than splooge out the top.... well, there was plenty in there and it freakin exploded and shot foam on my shirt (the same one i wear everytime i work on my ski so its no big deal) and on my paint... Im actually going to use a primer this time and try to do it right though... I changed my mind about not caring. Hull is almost done, i just got the cylinders back from the machine shop today... there isnt much meat left on those sleeves at all! Ill take some pictures soon

I didnt take a picture, you can look on darins website at the 91 square to round build from raven1969, he glued his to the inside though, you are suppose to glue it to the outside of the firewall... thats why he sectioned his (he thought it was too short) prices on tunnel scuppers are as follows
261.25 for pure fiberglass ones
306.00 for 50/50 glass and carbon
340.00 for pure carbon...

the fiberglass ones weigh about 2 ounces more than the carbon ones... they come with the tunnels and both scupper valves anodized in your favorite color, its a nice price... they are designed for his hulls so they dont fit exactly (pump cavity on serg's hulls is wider towards the rear and the hull tapers upwards more so there is a gap back there, which is easy to cover up if you can lay glass)

If you do get those wait for me to help you do the install because theres a few tricks i learned about it.

Hang in there Eric. Great build thread. You've got an awsome ski in the making. I know how you feel. My fx1 build is frustratingly slow because I can't sell my superjet. I'll be watching with interest, maybe even steal some ideas.

Nice footholds, that will be a super nice hull once you are done.
with all the work you have done so far, I'm glad to see you are going for some real paint.
I wish I had a nice big warehouse to work on my ski in.

:sneaky: it is nice, its heated and big enough that we ride a motorcycle around in it...

Im only using the hull for this summer, im putting an xft hull on order for next year so if anyone wants dibs on this hull let me know

yes, it will be ridden before then... building a custom ski takes a lot of time, a lot more time than i had gauged for... the pump is in, the motor is built... i pretty much just need to install everything... i lent my waterbox to zach so he needs to get me a new one before i can install my gas tank, and i dont have waterbox straps and im missing a fuel tank strap... im having a hard time installing the pump bolt closest to the shoe on the opposite side the steering cable is on... i need a socket cap M10x1.25 because i cant fit a socket in for the regular hex bolt... mcmaster doesnt even have it though... its annoying....

here are a few pics of the superjet... its getting there... this is expensive and takes a long time... the first two show the throw of the trim, the hull needed to be clearanced for this... the rest is self explanitory... this thing is k for kustom
