im making a superjet for me UPDATED PICS
So i got a hull from Edwin in So Fl. It was pretty beat up and stained /w rust on the inside, but it was a 96, so i bought it.
I started by taking off the little amounts of doohickeys (rivets, brackets, misc. junk) everywhere and then began to work magic /w the epoxy resin... i filled in the gas cap and all the holes in the hood seat where rivets were, then i took the exhaust out (the thru-hull portion)
I then cut the whole tray out (later to be glassed back in) and took out every last portion of foam /w a wire brush on an air grinder... and a shop vac...
I cut out the bottom portion of the firewall to where theres only about 2 inches left on the bottom of where water wont be flowing back to the pump cavity to be dumped out the one ways, thanks to bueno, Sergio... as well as a rear side exit exhaust.
Ive reinforced the inside sides nose and handlepole bracket /w 17 oz biax later to be covered w Carbon Kevlar... I filled in under the hood seat to keep it from flexing as well. I glassed in acorn nuts to the back of the pump cavity to bolt the pump shoe to because they were just screws that went into a chunk of glue (not very watertight at all)
The motor is a 61x on a 62t bottom, both ported... intake in it goes 48mm novi (/w custom fiberglass freestyle intake) riva single manifold, rad valves, riva spacer, trued and welded TDR crank (stock stroke) 84mm wisecos /w an ada girdled head, to a factory b limited... The motor and exhaust is powdercoated white (yeah it'll get dirty but its better than blue) oh yeah a total loss ignition too (with a secret surprise)
The superjet will be finely dressed /w an xft handlepole, bracket, hood and nosepiece combo, along with footholds... the pump is a stocker (dual cooling though) that is coated on the inside /w a low friction compound (better flow) /w a 9/17 cutback solas...
Im leaving out a lot of stuff but it should be pretty cool when its done... one of these days when i make a lot of progress on it and its not so ugly i will post more pics...
right now, all ive got for you is the altered steering cable location so it does not rub on the pump when the nozzle is in full tilt mode...
cheers:Banane01:
