I rode a square nose for the first time the other day, and that thing was so farkin easy to ride it felt like I was cheating.

It's much heavier than my 550, and makes great power to compensate for the weight, and STABLE. rediculously stable compared to what I'm used to. and the SXR is supposed to be even MORE stable? I cant imagine that unless it's sitting on shore.

It's official, I want one. now, do I find one modded or start from scatch....:sneaky:

Definitely modded. I am kicking myself in the ass for buying my stock roundnose. Now that I am starting to learn new tricks that require footholds and more power I really wish I would have looked longer and found a good modded one.

I just don't have time or the tools up at college or cash for that matter to mod my ski.

I agree with Saki.

its GOOD to know how, and sometimes its even fun to mod your own stuff from stock.
but money and time wise, you are better to spend a bit more and get one thats already done.

I agree, Get one with mod's. I bought a brand new stock ski and am kicking myself for it. I have 3K + into it now not including the ski.

definitely modded. but i have to disagree with saki (sorry, i bow down to you sir) on the msd enhancer. i barely noticed a difference on my blaster and SJ when i installed it. i think along with a lightened flywheel you'll notice a diff, but not just an msd alone. i wouldn't pass on a nicely modded sj based on msd.

sorry saki... i'll shut up now.

looking at the comma in your checking account

that comma dissapeared a year and a half ago, when i bought my stock ski, and has never returned. But hey i have a nicely modded ski, ie.. dual 46's by team scream, ada head, b pipe, bored pump, killer prop, all of x- metals products, and a WF hood and nose peice. hopefully one day it might return, but i dont have a feeling it will be soon.

I wouldnt buy a ski with stuff done to the motor unless you know the person who had it before you. In other words people don't get their motor ported and pipes and heads to take it easy on it riding it. Your safer doing stuff yourself. Look for a ski that is stock with aluminum H-pole and footholds. Those are bare essentials and you can do way more things on a ski with just footholds than you can on a SJ without them, pipes and all that just make it easier.

What I'm saying is I wouldn't buy a ski unless i knew the person before me and knew that they took care of it. For all you know the person could be bouncin off the rev limiter all the time, the motor will blow if your careless and otherwise it will last a long time and you don't know what people did to it before you had it. To much risk for me, I like to know what my crank has been through before I buy something.

I'm very happy with my msd enhanser and msd coil. Noticed a significant improvement with my sj with both. also I got them both for $160 shipped new on ebay a few months ago.

Hah, you think the SJ is stable... try an Octane.

Tried an FX1, and man that thing is squrely. I figure it is comperable to the 550, handling wise. Got on my round nose and was a big difference. Was a fun ski.

Of the FX1, SJ RN, 800sx-r, and octane.... I like the blaster best. :Banane01: j/k

coming off a square nose SJ and a friend let me ride his SXR and it was almost uncomfortable it was so stable. I think I was all tensed up but it rides more stable than ..dare I say it..... anything else.( I dare not) almost too comfortable needs to be a little more squirrelly maybe. I still favor the Sj and def put in sxr power!:Banane01:
