Billet couplers are considerably heavier than stock too. We measured last week. Almost 1 pound heaver than stock. It would completely offset any gains from a lightweight flywheel.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

cold fusion claim -.5lb on their coupler and slimmer. but that might not have been out yet, now that i see the date aaron posted it.

please correct me if im wrong, but the way it has come off to me is that billet is more dense than cast(obviously), but is also substantially stronger. so a lighter part can be made of billet if mass is shaved(make it smaller or thinner). the reason most billet parts way more though is because they are wanted for their strength over weight savings so the mass is left for strength purposes.

We got our data from a scale.

Where we messed up was the weight of the rubber piece. We didn't weigh it, just the metal couplers. The stock rubber piece is pretty heavy and HUGE compared to the Cold Fusion setup.

Next time my motor breaks enough to merit removing I have a Cold Fusion coupler set in my desk drawer.
