if u know about 750 sx click here

hey i rode my buddies spare ski a 90 550 sx i i knew i loved from that very spot, the for the next few months i looked on craigslist and ebay and i found out my buddy knows a guy who has a ski, so he i could have it for FREE, its a 92 750 sx i got it for free the only problem was that it didnt run and it had a big ass hole in the bottom but i all i did was put a new battery in it and new plugs in it it fired right up plus i know a guy that does fiberglass work so hes said hell do it for free so anyways

i been lookin on blowsion and other parts sites and i was wondering if parts for an sxi sxi pro would work for a sx

what are some nessecities for a ski its basically stock what are some good parts

if you can answer any of my questions that would be very helpfull

i have a 93 sx... bone stock... i am in the process of adding goodies... i picked up a set of dual carbs off of an sxi that i am putting on... im also adding a westcoast head, pipe (when i find one) as well as a different prop - 9/17... a buddy of mine has a 94 and is running the dual carbs, westcoast head and coffman exhaust.. its a pretty quick ski... i also have a 93 550sx... you will like the 750 much more than the 550... although i still llike to ride my little one... i believe pretty much the parts between the sx and sxi are interchangeable... if it doesnt have the oil block off yet... definitely add one and get rid of the oil injection

The SX hull is the same hull in the SXi. The SXi Pro hull is reasonably similar to the other two but with deeper strakes, a concave center section, and a shallower rake than the SX so the nose rides lower. It is also fiberglass instead of SMC.

The engines are all dfferent but the SX and SXi are most similar. The SXi has a higher exhaust port, dual carbs, and a beefier crank. Also a smaller reduction nozzle and a stainless impeller stock.

If your ski is perfectly stock, the absolute first thing to address is a new impeller.

Check out www.impros.com for all your impeller needs.

Yes welcome to the X. I would also address the impeller first. If you do decide to get a impeller, Dave at IMPROS is the best. Just call him on the phone and hopefully he'll have time to recommend something for you.

Also awesome score if the ski was free and the engine seems to be in good condition. Make sure to do a good job on that glass work. Do it right the first time. Do some research through the Tech FAQ's here on the X.

There is a lot of good information on working with glass and particularly working with glass and SMC. Good luck

welcome on board.pretty much everything that works for a sxi or sxi pro will work on your sx.only the ride plate and grate are specific to the sxi pro.pipes, carbs, intakes, cranks, pistons, heads, cylinder etc.. will work.you just have to match the big pin pistons to the big pin crank that came on the sxi.the cdi's on sxi and pro have a different advance curve that's a bit more agressive than your sx.put a prop, more compression,a grate and a plate and you'll be on your way.as far as pipes are concerned, a factory dry pipe works really well on your motor.you'll get more bottom and gain a boat load of power on top.much better than the limited pipe.you'll need duals by then though.

Ya, make sure you use epoxy only to repair that hull. Polyester resin will not stick very well at all to the SMC!(in case you didnt know).
There are also SMC compatible resins you can buy, but they cost as much as epoxy, and epoxy is the strongest.

Make sure your fiberglass guy knows this is a SMC hull and not fiberglass. He will need to use EPOXY RESIN not polyester resin like most boats. AWESOME score on the boat bro. I also strongly recomend a diferent impeller. PM MICHAELART as he has 3 stainless props available used.
As far as mods go after the impeller, I would suggest a handlepole spring tensioner and wider handle bars, MICHAELART has these used as well, he may be willing to part with some of them. The dual carbs from an SXI or SXI pro boat will work, but I believe you just use 2 less bolts on the intake mnfld. Where are you located? How did you know about X?
Welcome to the boards.

Love the 750sx. I have a '92 and am putting in footholds this winter for freeride.
Probably rebuild port polsih and pipe the engine next winter.
Needs: oil block off, intake grate, ride plate, ss impellor, bilge pump.
Then look at adding power once you have mastered the stock level.
Welcome aboard!

welcome!! cheap mods other thatn the prop. scoop grate and ride plate will help that thing hook up and handle sooooo much better. i noticed a night and day difference instantly. also if you can advance the timing. this will also help with throttle response. get some o degree bars and a finger throttle. enjoy!!

This sounds like my kinda thread

i believe he's from PWCT. aight bro, some things your deff gonna want:1, an impeller. im not sure what kind as im running a small pin top over a big pin bottom. from what i've heard, they say the Solas Concord is best in the sx. next, your gonna want a pipe. if you want speed, go for the dry pipe, if you want bottom end, go for the wet pipe. next SCOOP GRATE!!! i just recently put one on the 750 im selling and dude, the next time i was on it after i put it on there.... WOW, before i had a lil trouble handling it but now its good. best to get a WORX scoop grate. some sxi pro parts will work on the sx and sxi's but not alot. the scoop grate i got is off of a pro. best to go with the sx and sxi parts unless you wanna take a chance.you can go with dual carbs if you want. either that or get a HUGE single. i would deff do an oil block off, but make sure you know how much oil to mix with the gas. we use Kawa Chem, about 16fl OZ. per 6 gallons i believe. 14fl OZ for 5 gallons. and then lil misc. things here and there. any more questions you can PM me.
