....along one of the welds what kind symtoms would that cause.it has been leaking a little for a long time with no issues but lately the ski seems a little down on power and when it gets good and warm it starts to break up and miss a little bit.i trimmed the plug wires back and went through the carb the other nite and noticed that my chamber leak has gotten a little bigger.anyone think this could be causing my troubles??

Clean it thoroughly & JB weld it to see if it makes a diff. The JB ought to last at least one tank, enough for diagnosis.....

If that's too much trouble maybe you could use a sheet of thick rubber (truck tire inner tube) & a section of a coffee can hose clamped over the crack as a quickie diagostic.

Either way you need to get it fixed properly, & it's too cold to ride much until the weekend.:scared: Pat's shop does excellent welding BTW.

If you take the hood off and see smoke the engine is breathing exhausted air. That is why it would be breaking up. Did you check the coupler and all the gaskets.

its not that big of a leak ie no smoke when the hood is opened quickly.the coupler is in good condition and connected well.its about a half inch spot on the weld that oozes a little oil residue.i dont think that it is my gremlin

I had ski do the exact same thing, break up once it got warmed up. I spent a long time trying to figure out where the problem was coming from and it turned out the water box with a tiny split. The split would only open up once it was hot/warm and past mid throttle, then close up again right away. I rewelded the seam and the problem went away. Even a small leak can make a difference. As for JB weld that stuff if used properly is bullet proof. We used it to fix a crack in a zx7r block and it lasted for the entire endurance race no problems. We sent pic and the story to JBweld and they gave us like 4 boxes of the stuff.
