So ive decided to post up my project squarenose on here. Here goes....

I bought a 1990 Squarenose from an old friend for $300. Its only a 650, but it runs. Came with AC pole, ROGO Head, MSD Enhancer, Scoop grate, ride plate, Solas prop with a mystery pitch. It was, to say the least. FKING UGLY.

This is what Ive done to it since I picked it up in october:

-Powdercoat pole black
-Strip hull of stickers and turf
-Sand hull down to the white gel coat.
-2 layers of white paint still on, so I got it sandblasted (i probably sanded this thing completely 6 or 7 times til I primed it)
- WCF footholds installed
-Coffman pipe bought and polished
-SLUT Hood Mod
-Handholds
-internal Filler
-Glassed nosepiece into one solid piece.
-UMI Steering with -1 plate and 0 degree bars.
-Blowsion throttle trigger and ODI Grips
-freestyle Trim System... a waveraider/pro-tec combo
-Dual Bilges with custom bracket
-Wet Wolf freestyle cone
-Primed for Paint

NEXT ON THE LIST!
-Paint on saturday the 28th. Red top deck, black bottom.
-Install breather hoses in hood
-Novi carb?
-Turf rails, dash, and tray
-Finish Trim system
-Possibly porting on the 650
-701 for next winter with factory B pipe and some porting etc...:woot:

im sure Ive forgotten something... anyway heres some pics to enjoy!

any feedback is welcome!

thats the ones im talking about. are you leaving them plaine or using some tipe of vents? you will get water in the hood if you do subs im doing the same mod as we speak trying to find something to vent the holes im going to cut.

no im leaving them the way they are. at that point, my hood liner is at its lowest point. My hood liner goes UPWARD from the holes, to the top of my hood. Water doesnt run upward, so it shouldnt let water into the compartment. Maybe a little bit once in a while, but I doubt it.

Im sticking my breather tubes through the liner abut an inch so that water doesnt run down the tubes. instead the water will hit the edge of the hose and not go into my engine compartment

For my hood liner I used 2 layers of cloth and one layer of mat.

The mat is sandwhiched in between the cloth, not that it makes a difference but thats just how i did it.

To hold it in, I scored the back arch with a knife, and then epoxied it in with thickened epoxy. I cut about 4 inch strips for the 4 sides of the hood, front back left and right and glassed it in with those. I then reinforced the sides with more strips.

for my hood latch, i just cut out the hood liner where the latch would go, and formed the glass to the hood so that i cant still bolt up my latch assembly.

Last week I drilled and installed my trim tube, and monday night I got my lever for my bars. $7 mountain bike lever. I had to grind it down to fit around the start stop housing, since the lever doesnt stick out for enough to clear it, but now it works fine.

I painted the bottom black on saturday, just swung by the paint shop and it looks AWESOME. This coming saturday I'll be painting the top deck red. I cant wait.

The pics show the new tube from both ends, and my lever installed.
