hey the pvc pipe that you put in to act as a drain thats under the left floor board...is that srewed on or does it just drain on its own? the pic looks like their is a flap or something covering.

That's a flush mount scupper made by theskiclinic.com and is not rigidly connected to the PVC drain pipe.

A 2. The hardest part for me was getting the holes to line up since you need to drill from both sides.....inside the engine compartment and the end of the footwell. It's not exactly a staright shot so you have to hog out the end toward the firewall a bit.
A lot of guys cut teeth on the end of the PVC pipe to drill through the foam. I used a 2" hole saw with (3) 12" extension bars. This zipped right through it and was done in about 10 minutes.

Awesome build! I just picked up an 87' X2 today and already have a twitch from wanting to start chopping on it. Maybe tomorrow after its maiden voyage. How has the body work held up through summer?

I've beat it up pretty good several times in the surf and has a few superficial cracks but nothing too bad. I reinforced the entire inside of the hood with 1708 biax so its holding up good.

Hey X2skier, how well does the scupper drain in the back work at taking the water out and keeping it out? Also where did you get that good looking scupper at?

I got it from www.theskiclinic.com. It works great for letting the water out and OK for keeping the water out; probably no worse than any other scupper.
