You get the bs on EVERY site. If it wasn't for this site (and this site only) i would never have bought a superjet. I would still be riding the 650sx. And i wouldn't lust after the term FREERIDE.

Where are you from that there are NO standup riders. YOu find them in the weirdest places, they are all around.

All joking aside, remember that you get personal reviews, not objective product testing.
This forum is a collection of hundreds of opinions. Just ask me about Tubbies and flatwater, and then go ask Harrison (Big Kahuna).
Or my opinion on Odyssey batteries vs. Mouthfulloflake's opinion.
Or the very polarized opinions on various companies, like Blowsion or Waterdawg.
Quite often the opinions (or conflict of opinions) can come across as assholish, but that's what you get with the written word - it doesn't always come across as it was intended, and more often than not it looks rough to the outside observer.

Take it for what it is and keep in mind: they are personal opinions, nothing more.

Bingo............ We all have things that we feel stronger about, have stronger opinions about...... does not mean I am right about tubbies and Matt is wrong. It us just opinions and preference.

Spend a couple hundred dollars on a plane ticket to one of the freerides and you will get to try many people's skis to judge for yourself. Spending $300.00-$500.00 on a weekend trip will be worth a lot more than laying out thousands of dollars with the wrong builder.

That right there is probably the best advice you will ever hear. And here is why, you go to a freeride and start talking to someone about setup, I would be shocked if did not offer you a ride... that is what is great, everybody is always swapping out skis to try out.

Go to a ride and find what setups feel comfortable.

Just remember that most of the common setups work well, some slightly better than others, and a few are noticeably better than others.

Also, if your ski makes more power than you are taking advantage of with your skills, then practicing is probably what you should be working on anyway.

My rowboat makes more power that I can take advantage of. I just have a ski because I need another expensive hobby that my wife doesn't like.

I think the best thing to do is only read the posts with solid explanations. Any post stating an opinion without a backup story is useless. If the person posting can't be bothered long enough to state which product they like and why they believe this is true, then I don't put much stock into the post.

I feel your pain hardcore.

trial and error gets spendy $$$ fast.

you have to read and learn for a long time before you can really put any weight with the various opinions.

and then you can TRY and weed out what is personal, and what is factual.

once you have figured this out, please teach me how

I'm just trying to post in a thread before this guys does!!!
