FX-1 I just stole my first FX1

l tried that on my fx1 with no luck.ln fact it made it look worse. But then l read somewhere to take softscrub with bleach and 000 steelwool to clean it.That works, except it takes forever............Great winter time job.

Go figure! I did it on mine and came out perfect, and I mean perfect. I couldnt believe it, however it did take a little while. I tried some Mothers brand plastic renew stuff and it was a waste of $8 IMHO it did nothing!

does anyone have a link, for the pump conversion? I mean a really good platform that i can follow. I went through a bunch, but cant find one thats really a step by step process.

O ok. I'll just pick a alum one off eBay. Thanks for heads up. Another thing what about driveshaft . ThAt one that's on the pump is for superjet. Will that work??

I suggest sending your pump to bonzi bob or if your going to do it yourself, mod the fiberglass to take the regular super jet pump. You are going to have to cut the tray out eventually anyways to widen the intake track to reduce cavitation so you might just want to mod the tray to take the sj stock pump and save some $. I went with the bonzi pump but he charges like 600 or 700 dollars now (last time i heard) and ended up getting massive cavitation so i had to get the 144 aluminum pump shoe and reshape the intake... a lot of test fitting later, the thing rips. good luck man

that was my plan. using the superjet pump and pump shoe. Ill just do the glass work. Im going to take my time on this build. But will the superjet driveshaft fit the fx1 ???

yup just swap out driveshafts. Yamanube had a pretty good write up for a 144mm pump swap. He modified the hull to accept a superjet pump with no grinding needed on the pump. I bought the ski from him, and will be changing out the pump shoe later this year. You can use the stock pump shoe, you just need to use silicon to make the transition easier from the 122mm shoe to the 144mm shoe

so with the stock pump shoe did the superjet pump still perform better than stock? After switching the driveshafts on the pumps will it just bolt right up to the 122mm shoe or does the shoe need to be modified? (I know that the pump bolts need to be relocated to make it work) Ive read some of the write ups on these swaps before but no one has stated it before from what I have seen.

even with the 122mm shoe, it is wayyyy better than stock. It will bolt right up. Later, you can figure out how you want to get a bigger shoe The pump bolts need to be modified, and some fiberglassing must be done to make proper locations for the pump to bolt up to

As far as modifying pump bolts are you talking about the four bolts that mount to the tray to hold it on, or the bolts that hold the pump together? I've read that the bolt holes holding it to the tray need to be relocated (or send it to bonzai bob to mod the pump). Is that the glass work you are speaking of by relocating the bolt holes in the tray? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much work I'm getting myself into by doing this switch. Thanks for the help.

the hull has to be modified to accept the four "feet" that come off the pump and bolt to the tray. Two are too far from the tray so they must be shimmed, and two need to have the tray cut away recessed. I have not done any of this work personally, this is how I've seen it done. Or you could send money to Bonzai bob and have him weld new "feet" on the pump, which personally I wouldn't do.

You will also have to some various grinding here and there to get the pump to fit, and no matter which route you take, the rideplate must be ground to fit

Is Bonzai Bob still doing this? I tried contacting him to do it a while back and got nothing. Others have told me the same.
