Hydroturf's Shipping....

:rolleyes:Just thought I'd share my experience with Hydroturf Direct.

I used the online checkout and was looking for 2 sheets of B stock.

$25.00 a sheet? Good deal.
Shipping from Anaheim - Toronto, ON Canada = $75.00
Total = $125 USD Shipped.

I figured since most online checkouts are guidelines, I'd send customer service an email and ask if that shipping price is for real. I also inquired about an X-H2O discount.

Got an email back, and it said that the B stock cannot be discounted further, and that there is nothing they can do about the shipping price.

I understand the B stock not being discounted and accept that, I told Hydroturf I understand its already discounted and that is fine.

But not willing to help save on shipping

Hydroturf Shipping = $75.00
Quick Calculation on USPS Website = $26.00

I ended up buying turf from Blowsion along with other things. They charged me less than $40 to ship it all (2 sheets of turf, a few fittings, throttle cable, grips, etc.) and they are expecting it to arrive this week.

I ended up spending more money on the turf from Blowsion ($59 x 2 + ship or whatever it was), but felt a lot better giving them the money as they gave me the customer service I felt I deserved. Also, I got Black regular Diamond Molded and not a B stock item (which I have no quams with).

I'm not a cheapass; if they reduced the shipping to even $50 I would have probabaly ordered it from them (which is still retarded high for shipping).
Not willing to work with a potential customer =

I'll have to come up with my own product like Hydroturf and take over the Canadian market (as small as it is...)

mind you it was an international order and blowsion probably put the declared customs value down low and hydro turf's was probably accurate and it depends on the shipping method they chose as well.

what type of shipping method did blowsion use?
and when was your order placed?

so, you dont like how much they charge for shipping....and you think this deserves negative feedback

rediculous.

Yeah, I would do the same as well. Be serious now... you can ship a 70lb. motor coast to coast for under $75. Two B-stock sheets might weigh under 10lbs. Don't you feel that's pricey?

The thread doesn't seem to be bashing in my opinion... I see alot of facts. If this thread wasn't in the "Negative feedback" section, would it still be bashing?

people just need to quit using the neg feedback section as an outlet for :17:

if someone wants too much $$ to ship something, then move on and get it somewhere else

HT is probably THE biggest supporter of our sport...and I hate to see their name get trashed because someone is whining about the cost of INTERNATIONAL shipping

So I sell you a part and I decide to jack up the price on shipping because "I don't feel like dealing with UPS that day"? Just because Hydroturf is a large supporter of the sport doesn't mean they can't make mistakes or do shady business practices at times. That is one thing that this forum is notorious for.... as soon as someone has a deal gone south with a reputable manufacturer, engine builder, etc.... everyone takes sides and fights for them. If hydroturf has something to say, let them speak for themself instead of the heresay. Goldenboy stated his side of the case. He even went further to try and understand where Hydroturf was coming from. He felt as though he was being taken on the shipping cost when he went another step and confirmed that UPS would only charge $26. I don't think he could have done anything else. His last resort was to post here. He has that option and no one should fault him for it, nor consider it whining.

I also didnt see this as bashing  He likes the product just didnt like the shipping situation. Hell he even bought hydroturfs product just through a different company. Personally I wouldnt pay that much for shipping of 2 sheets either. Companies dont mind feedback, its what helps them grow and better themselves.

If everyone just kept quiet and moved to the next company, then the company wouldnt know what the problem is so they could try and do somethig about it to make people happy. It wasnt a bash, just someone saying that they didnt like the shipipng costs. Legitamate complaint if you ask me.

next time you run into this, i would say give a quick phone call...its alot harder to say no to someone on the phone than in an e mail...

there are alot of good companies out there, hydroturf being one of them, blowsion another, etc...

when people start "speaking" with where their dollars go...all companies pay attention, and the ones that stay around are the ones that adapt and adjust to changes, problems etc...

personally I hate the online ordering options of any company, there are too many mistakes, pick up the phone, call and ask for cost and shipping, if there is a problem, you can solve it right then.

I ordered my pre-cut kit from hydroturf on a Friday, the next Friday it was delivered. I thought that was very fair considering they arte based in Ca. and I live in NC. I ordered over the phone, and with the x-h2o discount I ended up paying less than the product was adverised as being with shipping added in. I thought they handled my order very well. Just my experience though.
