it looks to be around 6 hours from us. Would be nice if we could get the MI crew and all to meet up there sometime.

Never riden there but I hear the Salamonie reservoir is better for that area. The reservoirs in this area are pretty dirty though. I ride NE indiana in some of the cleanest lakes around.

Any other recomended area is welcome! If anyone knows of cleaner water between Ft. Wayne and Indianapolis, let me know. We're just trying to find a central(ish) location to meet up and ride for a Saturday morning. We're shooting for a 3 hour drive for everyone.

I ran at the Kil-So-Quah park area (Near Huntington Lake) and thought the water was kind of swampy but I could have not been at the lake area. Never been on that lake.

Lake Wawasee is big with a easy ramp. Lake Syracuse is right next to it and has an ok ramp. I prefer Syracuse due to Wawasee typically being a little rough from winds coming across it. I don't know if either has a open shoreline though. I have a cottage on Witmer Lake in Wolcottville if you were wanting a shore to dock on and hang out. Some nice lakes up near Angola too. But everything I mentioned is North of Ft Wayne.

I have been on Brookville Lake which is SouthEast of Indy but no idea on the ramps. Water was pretty nice with I was there on a coworkers house boat.

Another lake could be Celina, OH --> looks central from Grand Rapids, Louisville, and Akron/Columbus... either way it would be cool...

we looked at Clear Lake in Indiana before as well.... it looked cool as well

maybe a good idea for a weekend camping trip??? I wouldnt mind driving 3-4 hours on Friday morning.... skiing friday and camping... then skiing saturday then driving home to get home Saturday evening/night... that would make for a good weekend... my 2 cents

Clear lake is a nice lake. I've rode on it once. There is an island with a beach. I launched from a friends lot so I dont know how the ramp is.

Therein lies the problem. I'm looking for a Saturday morning/afternoon away from home. I'd like to be home in early evening. I have no trouble leaving EARLY on Saturday morning (3:30-4:00), but I don't want to be gone on Friday night. That's about all the time I can put aside for 'group' rides these days.

I would definetly be down to ride with a group of guys in the next 2 months if it happens while I am at home and not out here on the rig.

1) From what I heard Celina is shallow and dirty. That is just what I have heard. It is only like 5-6ft deep from the maps I have seen. Its about a 3 hr drive for me.

2) I have been looking into to riding on Racoon Lake / Cecil M. Harding Lake it is about 30 mins West of Indy and is pretty big has some nice launches and nice beach and shoreline.

3) F.Y.I. Indiana DNR requires an annual lake permit to operate water-craft on most any of the main lakes in Indiana... There is a list of them online... It's $20 for a year

Im up for anything... I drive through Indiana all the time on my way to Texas for work...

My friends got a cottage on Adams lake, in Wolcottville. I usually ride on Lake George, close to Clear lake, which does have a nice ramp but no public beaches.
