I am making the arrangements to attend the RR. I have reserved campsite 55 from Thurs. May 18th to the 22nd, so I will be leaving the Wed the 17th.

Anyone leaving Wed. the 17th, if not I will probably take I-20 from College Station and see if anyone in Dallas wants to Caravan?

Edit: dates

Yep, heading out 5/18 early in the morn. Will hopefully get there before they lock the park. If not I will find a motel.

When are you leaving Premix? Are you making the Texoma race?

Skinnyman,

I was planning to spend the night in Tascaloosa, AL. It should be about 12 hours there and another 3.5 Thursday. I figure with a 15-17 hour drive leaving at 5:00am thats 8/10PM in Lanier and then getting stuff unpacked to set up a tent (in the dark); too much. I would rather leave at 8:00am, get to Tascaloosa 8:00 pm, then leave 8:00 AM Thursday and be in the park ready to set up by noon. That gives Thursday afternoon/evening to get set up and all day Friday to ride.

If I go that route. I am game.

BK made it home from Seabrook on Tuesday to Tuscaloosa in like 8 hours or so, where are you figuring 12 from?

I am planing on following All Stock on Thurs morning and going straight through :drive:

 Why waste daylite driving? There's nothing like driving straight through the night then roll your skis straight into the water at daybreak :bigok:

Anyways, since noone seems to want to convoy overnight, I'll roll Thursday morning too.

I'll have to check on Texoma. I haven't seen the schedule lately and all those region 5 sites were offline last time I checked.

Google had Port Bolivar to Tuscaloosa at 11 hours. I used several different mapping sites (google, yahoo, mapquest, msn) and they had me in Tuscaloosa near 11.5 hours.

Point is they have College Station to Lanier at 14 to 15 hours.

Nope, I can't work 8-10 hrs and then drive 12-14 hrs. I would be dangerous. I figure with the kind of time we made coming home last time it is a 12-13 hour drive. We just had a screwy trailer going and construction returning. I hope none of theat will be happening again.

I'm planning on going. Right now I am driving solo.

My plan is to leave after work on Wednesday and drive till I get tired - so I'll be stopping about midnight or 1AM. Sleep, get up Thursday and be at the lake just after lunch.

anyone want to ride with me? I'm planning on leaving Lanier about 1PM Sunday afternoon.

Which way you coming? You could crash at my house and then we'll caravan from here.

The online mapping estimates from my house are coming up at 16 hours. I could shave an hour off that by staying the night and leaving from my father's house in Baytown. What time would we have to be on the road to get there before the sun goes down and the park closes? Remember we lose an hour going that direction.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I copied this off pwcmania.com first race is April 30th.

SCWP is up and running, the first race is ready to go, with some new members to the staff and some changes that have been made I hope this year will be start to getting this sport back to were it should be. Sea-Doo has stepped up to help alot of promotors this year, plus the racers with it's sea-doo bounty program with payouts to the racers that ride sea-doos. APBA has also done alot to help the promotors as well, and will continue to step up to the plate to better the sport and take care of it's racers. All of the races will be held at lake texoma, and this is because of merle varner and rusty wilson. Merle has done alot of work on getting people to help in putting on this race series. The web site has been updated and online regestration is ready to go. Right now we will be needing help with course marshalls, Joe has work to deal with and will not be able to do the first to races for sure, hopefully he can make the last two. If joe and karen can not make the races this year they will be missed by everyone. For race info contact Kenny Sims 972-896-9613
