Hello, I have the stock coil, msd enhancer. It was suggested to get a "better" coil. Since Ill need a yam. part # which ski do I look up. Thanks Lou

what about an msd coil? Is the yamaha coil better than the sxr, if so share the part number as I will buy one too, I'm running an SXR with an Advent total loss.

Lou, I'd get an MSD Pro Coil from a single coil digital total loss system and mount it outside the electric box. You'll be much happier.

The best coil I have found is from the GP/Raider 760. It comes complete with wires & caps, & is a little pricy @ $200.
What makes it better is the wires. They are filliment core. They hold a better spark energy, with less resistance & don't break down over time, like copper core wires. If you ride salt water, this is definately the coil to run.

Std Yam & Kaw coils are the same, But if you look up the price of the kaw, it has a much better price point.

The MSD stock improved coil has a high failure rate. I have seen some that seem to last forever, while others are very short lived.
I have not seen a performance differance over stock with them.

Paul, are there any gotchas with the 760 coil, like size where it might not fit into an SJ or B1 box? Would I be able to use MSD plug caps on that coil, or does it come with?

Anyone have the Mitsubishi part No# for it?
