Art at Jet Works told me that some of the earlier Hot Rods cranks were prone to cracking in the webs. He is building a 771 for me and I opted to pull out my Hot Rods crank and go with a new imported crank that he sells. I'm not sure of what brand it is, but is uses WSM rods.

Hot Rods used to be considered ok alternative, but their prices went up alot and some had problems. Hot Products dropped them after issues. We use the SBT cranks at a much lower cost and a 1 year warranty.
