Hot Knife & Hydro Turf

so i put my turf on to day and it kicked my butt. it doesn't look to bad but its not that good for a first timer. but i tried to use a hot knife trick i kept thinking about using this tool instead of using fire each time

70 bucks though... do you have a heat gun? thats what I used and it worked great. I just got the blade real hot and then cut a few inches then went back to the heat gun to keep it hot.

A good sharp knife goes through it easy enough. I didn't see the need for heat.
Be careful with any ignition sources around that glue btw.

agreed. I normally go through several razor blades during a turf install. I don't toss em, but they just don't cut as well if they aren't brand new and super sharp.

heat allows you to cut the turf much much easier. it also gives you a cleaner line. look at a peice of turf cut with a fairly sharp knife and do it again with the knife super hot.

x4......... sharp blades is all you need. you can get a 100 pack from HD for < $8.. expect to use 20+ on any decent turf job.

scissors, sand paper, and a razor blade worked perfect for me IMO
