Super Jet Hole in tubby???

Location
NorCal
Noticed last night a small chunk has come out of my right tubby on the bottom edge, exposing the fiberglass.

Any suggestions on how to approach a repair? I was thinking I would just fill it up with 5200 or epoxy or something similar, then sand and paint over….

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Thats an air pocket, you really need to grind it down to the glass and build it back up with glass, or if you want to do a shady fix mix up some epoxy and cabosil put it in a large cattle syringe and fill in the hole.

Try a body filler of some sort for marine applications ? Make sure it goes in and fills the void so it can't pull out then just smooth it

This, to use it you will have to flip the ski so it will not run out of the hole though

thanks

do you think that will be a legit fix or am I asking for more problems?

They are ski clinic tubbies, installed by them. I would just have them fix it but it is 70mi each way for me to get there. Round trip to drop off + round trip to pick up = 280mi and 6 hours of driving...

That is an easy fix.
Thick peanut butter will fill that in nicely.
Is that fiberglass or foam you see in the pic?
I got resin and 404....cures in 15 minutes.

that sucks it does look like an air pocket. I would try to get as much marine text in there as i could sand flush and call it a day.

It is glass I see inside. I was thinking of going the marine tex route. Do you think I will need to tip it on its side to get a good fill?

Make sure the mix (??) you are going to use is THICK and FAST curing.
Once you get it all filled in, use Scotch clear tape and cover it.
BAM..! You are done. The Mix should not stick to the tape.
Peel it off when you think is cured....Go riding!

p.s: This so you don't have to lean the ski sideways

Filled it up with the quick setting marine tex. Still gotta hit it with a little rattle can black but should be okay. A little harder to work with than I expected but I think I got it filled. All it can do is fall out I guess, not huge risk hahaha
