Is there any way to research the HIN of a pwc you have the intentions of purchasing with the intention of determination to the legality (stolen or not stolen) as well as to whether or not it has a lien attached? Any help would be appreciated.

your local DMV or DNR office (whichever handles watercraft in your state) could tell you

I wish there was an online database to run numbers, but to my knowledge there isn't. I'd love to be proven wrong as I've needed to check many times

i think you can check them through either KBB or NADA.

I have done it once before.
