I was running no hood seal for a while, it was doing just fine, the hood fits in the groove perfectly and probably wouldnt let much water in. But after a while it started to wear away my paint, so I put a hood seal on just so it wouldnt keep doing that

yea, the few times i tried a roll, i was just bunny hopping and cutting the bars, no turn wake, i was going 3/4 of the way around and landing on my side, and i was instanly getting water to the carbs, i had a thin rubber seal on at the time, but not sure how great it was working... i know most of the water was comming from the holes i drilled in the hood by the tray lip to get air in... so this weekend i worked on my hood liner,,, its not very pretty, but i thnk its gonna work awsome!!! the pic is before i shaved the extra glass on the lip, and cut the 2 holes for the down tubes... i shaped the back half out of cardboard and duct tape, and the front part is just a flat pice of glass i made on a piece of plexi glass and pelled it off... i think its gonna work well.. its going to be 80 tomorrow, so i plan on testing it out!... maby try a backie too!!!! (providing i fixed my spark problem???)

Watcon sells a good hood seal that will fit down in the little valley around the lip.You have to pinch the seal together to get it to fit right, but mine works well.

you need a hood seal to keep water out .brock ..

it could be how shane put together the liner and the hood, the liner fit in the groove so well the hood wouldnt move a centimeter. Highroller intended it to be run without but most people run one anyways. I am a believer in that theory, but my paint isnt. My ski was bone dry.

got the hood liner done, got a good hood seal on (i think) gonna head out on the lake tonite and try some tricks! hope i dont sink it! LOL.. also im real interested in seeing how long the smaller 550 tank lasts on this motor?
