Glad to see you got it put together but I can assure you, you are far from finished and the tweaking is about to begin. I've had mine on the water for the last 6 months and chips got his finished a few weeks after. I think chips has been trying to sell his ever since but I've tinkered with the way mine handles ever since trying to make it exactly how I want it. That's just my personality though and not so much that the hull is bad. Chad and sanoman got theirs up and running over the summer if I remember correctly. There is a delicate balance in weight distribution on these hulls that you'll have to find. There's also plenty of knowledge between us all so if there's anything you think should be better about the way it rides, just ask.

Oops...forgot Brock as well. He's up and running too.

as far as tweeking, what are you thinking will need done to effect the handeling? im using a 760 mid shaftalready, the only think i was thinking was i maby try a shorter pole? but as far as motor/elects/carbs, iv been running this set up for 2 years now, so that shouldnt give me much greif... let me know what ur thinking? i know all you guys have a lot more time with one these than i do!

i wasnt trying to say mine was the 2nd stunt built, ( unless you were just listing guys in case i had questions?) i was just laughing cause it looked like sanoman built is under a car port outside aswell..

Better get some air coming in that hood Kenny.l don't remember what size carbs your running, but you need more air.

yea, thats part of the to do list for tomorrow.. i just grabbed some flexi hose and im going to run it under the hood back to where im going to put the air holes,, im probly just gonna dril the air holes tomorrow, and work on the hood this week... i want to build a kinda half liner for the air tubes, and put hand holds in....

aslo i have no floatation at the moment, still trying to decide on the best way? good thing its shallow where im gonna ride,, if she goes down i can go get it with out a scuba tank!

yes more air. looks good, is it just in gelcoat?

yea, its just the white gel coat dan made it in, but the hood is painted white, i was origionally planning painting the whole ski black, and when he made my hood after, i told him to make it black.. so i had to paint it. dosnt match perfect, but im going to sticker it up tomorrow also..

In terms of tweaking, I'm basically just saying that any new hull requires that personal touch so it handles just the way you want it to. With a normal hull, you just adjust the pole and rideplate and you're typically done. With this hull, I was constantly trying to find that happy medium between good cruising and maneuverability while still being able to control it at low speed. I think I've finally gotten it where I like it though.

I see what you meant by 2nd completed (totally outside). I didn't pick up on that. I don't run any flotation. I run dual scupper out of the back and I have a 800gph bilge pump that runs 100% of the time. So far the only close calls I've had were because the bilge pump wasn't installed or wasn't working.

In terms of the hood liner... You may be able to come up with something but keep in mind that the flame arrestors, b pipe, and even the spark plug wires stick up into the hood. That is certainly something I'd like to do but it won't be easy.

im running dual scuppers, and a bilge, i have the the stuff to run a 2nd bilge, but gotta get the bilge outa a differt hull thats laying around back... i want to make more of a wall instead of a liner, i just want to seal off the back 1/4 of the hood and fix my air tubes to that, i have the templets cut out of cardboard, and was planning on doing that when i put in the hand holds...
thats encouraging that ur not running floatation either, i was going to use dirtbike innertubes back in the gunnals, and maby 1 in front the tank.. just maby shove them in deflated, and fill them up till they fit snug??

Sounds like you are addressing most of the issues.l'm still a little concerned about no flotation, but waternut seems to be doing great! When you do flip over, the stunt will stay that way.She just won't roll back over like a stock hull. You find that yours does that too John?

I've never had any of my hulls self right themselves. If they're upside down, they've all stayed upside down. That is the one time where no floatation worries me though. I've debated pool noodles and kayak float bags in the back of the hull but so far haven't done either. I did ride with a $2 inner tube in there for a while but it leaked air after a week so I just yanked it out. If I rode surf more often, I would probably be more motivated to get some floatation in there.

well i got it on the water tonite!!! i only rode it for about 20mins before it started getting dark... MAN! it is definaly small, but it sure was fun! i got some things to addess this week before i thake it aout agian,, definatly gonna finish my hood liner/baffel im making,, everytime i tried a roll, i would suck water there the inllet holes i drilled, and i was having an issue with the msd only sparking on 1 cylinder? but all and all it was a good first run! and we got th old jet mate out too!! ill have more feedback this week when i get more time on it... but it defanatly didnt seem nose heavy, if anything it was nose light? but that may be because im fat!!

I think it helps that you started off with the 760 midshaft. Getting the engine back that extra little bit helps. I'm pretty skinny so with the motor a little forward, long ride plate, and shortened turn plate, my ski was ready to do a sub at the slightest lean forward. It's all fixed now but it took some tinkering for me to get it where I wanted it.
