ok so back when i owned a polaris couch, i used to hang around the hulk alot...

ph20craft (the moderator) had this sweet idea. how about a pay-it-forward type of thing.

im not sure if he came up with it or if he got the idea for a parts pay it forward type of thing from another website.

but heres what i think we can do:

1: i know alot of people around here have a ton of extra parts and maybe they dont really need the extra cash so they could just post what they have.

2: the "giver" could ask the "reciever" for a payment for shipping but that might not always be the case.

3: if anybody needs a part they can post up and see if anybody has an extra one that they could spare.


now i just want to know what you guys think. i mean i know that ive needed parts before and some of the guys on the X have let it go for practically nothing! i mean it sucks when your skis just sitting in the shed and then you hop on the X and theres a person who has your back and who can help you out!

if yall think this will work just post here and maybe the webmaster can make a "sticky" for this!

This also works with just regular parts that you may usually sell for like $5-10 dollars. I do this all the time...People will be looking for parts and as long as they cover shipping I will send the parts out for free..If its someone that has helped me before then I cover shipping also.

I have had guys cover me on parts they could have easily sold for $50+ before...its a great feeling.

Yeah, I'd say it's done pretty much every day. Sometimes through a post, more often through PMs or a phone call. It's just one of the many great things about this site.

And I'd bet that card was killer. Shonuff is a funny b*stard for sure.

I agree. I needed a solenoid and starter a month ago when I was broke so I could get running for Cleveland, mouthfulloflake sent me a starter that needed a front cover (that I had) and wayne sent me a solenoid. shonuff needed some carb screws and I had extras, so I sent them to him.

Like a 'stuff wanted' section, a 'for sell' section, and a 'free stuff' section. :shrug:

It might be cumbersome sifting through 3 sections when you're pissed off because that part on your ski just broke. :shrug:

There is no reason for 3 sections. It all works just fine the way it is. Like it's been said over & over, people help each other out a lot on this site.

I agree with that too. I've sent out or given to someone...several parts in the last couple of months without anything upfront in return. And this includes a complete pump and shaft assembly, exhaust hose and some other not so cheap parts. I figure what comes around goes around. You help a fellow rider get back on the water, and when you're in a bind someone is bound to hook you up. Karma is a wonderful thing!!:woot:And it mostly all comes from this site the way it is.

I already tried this concept in the X2 section which is probably the most close knit group of riders on here,it didn't go over there,it flopped.10/29/07-11/10/07 RIP

I have too many parts to sift through and list them all for free. I check through the "Want to Buy" section regularly, If there is something I know I have I will respond and offer it. If I have something worth selling and I need $$ or need it out of the way, it will go in the for sale section.

Simple, don't over think this.
