Help with foaming in footholds

I got this stuff called Evercoat Marine 2-part foam it, 2 lb closed cell urethane.
Is this the right stuff to re-foam after footholds r in?.
1- How much do i mix at once
2- How much should i pour in at a time to make sure i get all the voids ?
3- Does this stuff expand fast or slow?
I don't know, i was thinking maybe mixing about 16oz @ a clip, pour it in see what happens and go from there.
If it doesn't fill up the first time how soon can i add more to bring it up to the top?.
If anyone's experienced with mixing and pouring this stuff, any advice with do's and don'ts is appreciated.
If i pour too much in at once can i blow the foothold out?.

I'm lost!

I just used the 2lb uscomposites stuff to backfill my one-way valve. Mixed in 8oz portions and should have stopped halfway through the second portion  . Mix it 1:1. It pours like maple syrup and starts to expand in 30-45 seconds so mix fast. Wait time probably varies depending on temp. I waited an hour @ 75F but could have repoured sooner.

I mixed in 8 oz portions myself .I got the Blowsion kit .
It said mix and shake for 15 seconds but the stuff started coming out of the applicator bottle in 5 seconds.Make sure you are ready when you mix it :cool2:

How much time you have between mixing and the stuff expanding depends on temperature. The warmer it is, the less time you have.

I just used "great stuff"... it's cheap and quick

don't even tell me it will absorb water, cause it doesn't matter

Well I mixed in my garage during the winter which is about 55 at best and the $hit exploded out of my container before I could even walk over to the SJ .It's tough to clean off your hands too so wear some latex gloves .:banghead:

 Strange, that's for sure. The instructions on the two-part urethane foams say it's temperature dependent - and that's been my personal experience, as well.

In fact, when I refoamed my Superjet in Phil's garage in January, it was so cold that it took a long time to expand - so we put subsequent batches in the microwave  (un-mixed, of course) to heat it up. Worked a lot better.

you didnt refoam the whole ski though, right???? I think that if you just hollow out enough for the hold the great stuff would be just fine........

NO foam will absorb water if it doesnt leak in the first place........but if the job isnt sealed properly than ANYTHING will get wet...

While we are on the foam subject, I just glassed over the factory foam hole when I put in my one-way valve. Should I bother topping off the other factory hole and glassing it to ensure a good seal or is tape generally fine?
