Help me with this spark plug problem

So I cut the leads back a 1/2 inch. My battery was very low so I hooked it up to my car battery. Works now.

I didn't know, due to my lack of detail then, but I already had NGK caps, but I just purchased new ones from Riva. When I was cutting the wires, I accidentally pulled the wire out of the tubing, but pushed it back in. Everything still works, but would you guys recommend getting new igniton coil set up or will I be fine?

Get a new coil. the wires sort of work harden from the vibration near the plug ends, that's why you'll see 3/8 to 3/4 long pieces for 3 to 5 " near the ends. If you're on a budget or in a hurry you can splice on new wire ends about 10" back. Just use 18-22 ga elec. connectors to graft the new cables on, before you connect them slip a 3" lenght of fuel line over the joint and use lots of rtv to seal. This repair lasts pretty good - worked for me, worked for dirkdiggler.

Just check your coil resistance, if its good y change it?
primaryrange-black:.078-.106 ohms at 20 degree celsius
secondary: between your 2 caps: 3.5-4.7 ohms

But I think that if you miss the low speed screw, you running very rich on low speed , so you fouls your plugs very fastly.

couple more things,

1 are you sure the screw is missing? on one side of the carb is the low screw towards the bottom, and the opposite side is the high speed screw, but there is also a boss that may look like the same hole and it is not drilled. you may not be seeing a screw and assume its missing???

2 if you are saying you pulled the wires out of the rubber and shoved em back in then that coil wiring is done. if you are saying the wire and rubber moved out of the protective covering sometimes found on them then no biggie.

3 are you flushing the ski?? if so how much water is on the hose and are you starting ski, flushing, shutting off water and revving ski and then shutting it off?
