300/440/550 Help js440!!!

so i got the flywheel puller on but the flywheel does not want to budge.. is it usually this hard to remove a flywheel?

EDIT: got the flywheel off, the key is in perfect shape.. is there anything else that may be affecting the timing other than the key?
EDIT: my friend forgot to bring his compression tester, so ill get the compression tomorrow

Putting the flywheel on wrong will give you spark, just at the wrong time. You can't really put it on wrong and have it fit together.

Verify the stator is hooked up. That generates the AC for the CDI which turns it to a spark.

EDIT: Why are you using 93 octane? Anyone know if the high octane rating plays a factor? I know a too low octane rating will damage the engine...

whats wrong w/ 93 octane? i figure better quality gas makes the motor run better, its not like its race gas... as for the stator it is hooked up.. and still very clean.. so i dont see why it would go bad...

I don't know that there is anything wrong with running 93 octane. That's why I asked..

If you're convinced the stator is correctly connected, you need to trace down the electrical problem. Start with verifying the stator coils are still in good shape by using an ohm meter and posting the readings you get. Assuming those coils are good you gotta look for a break in the path to the CDI. If the path to the CDI has no breaks, start questioning the CDI and good luck finding 1 if it is the problem.

Sounds to me like you hit something while working on it and knocked a wire loose. Happens to almost everyone.

They don't have a distributor. They have a ignition coil, or CDI.

Get an analog volt meter. There's 2 coils in the stator. 1 for ignition and the other for charging. Have a wiring diagram? I have 1 at home...
Look for an AC voltage across the 2 wires for the coil for the ignition while you're cranking. AC voltage should indicate stator coil is good.
If stator coil is good, strongly suspect the ignition coil pack. Hit up your local shop if you need that part.

You can't do the test with a digital meter. It has to be analog.

well i'm having trouble getting an analog voltage meter.. but i think that is the problem, im not gonna make any moves until i know it is though.. and no i do not have a manual unfortunately

YOU gotta be kidding, maybe i dont wanna BUY one. lol im waiting on a friend to bring one by... the goal is to not spend more money buying the tools then to actually fix the thing..

Your tank is pulled by now flip the ski over and then crank the ski over a few hundred times and see how much water you got in the engine because you had the hose full blast and it has to much water mixing with every thing i no i have filled my motor with water and it would not start make sure you leave the plugs out

ok sorry i missed the no spark thing did you get the flywheel nut on and flywheel on right and the nut is torque to 115 then check your start stop switch and make sure your spring is not broke inside the stop switch

To check the stator check the red to black wire should be 270 ohms +/- 20%. Then check Red to Gray wire should be 25 ohms +/- 20%. If this checks out good and the magnets are still strong in your flywheel its more then likely your cdi. There is a test for the cdi but its not always 100% correct. I have had a few cdi's that have checked out good but where still bad. Check your grounds and the one going from the cdi box to the engine

115 should still be ok. I belive 120 psi is around stock. With 115 is should still run. Anything under 100 psi is where I would think it would run like crap if at all.

Alright, so here is the deal, i just got back from the bahamas and still nothing on the ski, i just went over everything again and the spark is weak. i had to take the boots off to get any sign of spark, what does that sound like to you guys?
