Help a brotha out?

OK...here is the deal. It is time to get padded up and try some stupid stuff and learn some more aerial tricks.

I know lots of you guys wear different safety gear, and I am curious about what you are using and why.

Here is some of what I have been thinking.
The Frenchies run road race style back protectors...seem like a good idea.

Mke Serlin was wearing impact shorts when he was learning some new stuff. Hockey style shorts that have pads built in.

Shin guards

Ankle braces

When things go wrong I wil be probably landing on the ski and not in a good way...and I'd like to not break. Any thoughts...

Id still like to see a flat 360, imagine the possibilities, tailwhips and all.

As for the lacross gear, my son plays lacross and there is no way you will swim with that stuff on.

I have a couple of Bell balistic (sp) helmets. They are good full face helmets. I have broken the mouth piece on one in the past, but in that case it did the job.

I should probably just head to the ole Sports Authority and see what is there...

And we have a guy Jared who is riding with us who is doing the flat 3's more or less, and there is a lot there.

I just think that over all to progress the sport, we need to start getting away from the ski more...more release variations on all the old stuff...

Dianese mtb jacket would work.661 makes a decent one for cheaper.wouldnt want to swim too far in it..they were too restrictive for me to ride downhill in them..i wore it once and the one time i did i went over the bars in a nasty g-out at about 40mph and landed on my spine on a rock..it pierced the plastic..would have probably been paralyzed..but i always said if my arms wernt pumped up from wearing it i wouldnt have crashed..

Word up! Your list looks good, but you may want to consider some kind of knee braces if you might be landing hard flat. I dont wear any yet, but I may after a small dirt bike incident...

Cant wait to see some new tricks!

C ya at Pismo in March :burnout:

Here's what you need, Peruvian riot gear:

There is a guy here that rides with an MX chest protector. Some of the mx gear is super light weight. I have seen knee and shin combo pads that were super thin and nice. I think Pete posted some EVS stuff a while back(or I saw it on the website) that would be perfect. If your thinking some MX style tricks maybe MX gear is the deal for you. Just add some extra floatation. Some of the padding in hockey style pants absorb water and may make it difficult to keep your head above water. Pool test it first.

As far as protecting your hips, tail bone and that area, I tried out "Crash Pads" shorts/underware back in my skating days, they worked well I tried some harder tricks I had never done with them on landing on my tail bone pretty hard a few times and they worked awesome, not sure on how they would be in the water, may want to give the company a call.

I also see they now make upper body pads now as well as padded pants. But you maybe able to get away with a pair of the armored shorts under a pair of board shorts
