Happy New Year! What's the best thing you did in 2013

Good answers in here! I guess for me it was getting my Lake Erie rolls so big that the bottom of my feet are all F'd up...even with 25mm padding! And just as good is the fact that my ski is dialed in to handle anything I can throw at it I guess!

2013 was more about posturing for the future for me and I had to put riding on the back burner a bit. I rode less than 12 times all year and gained about 20 lbs. I took a huge risk and walked away from 20 years in the wood industry and jumped head first into aerospace manufacturing. I went from making OSB for Georgia Pacific to servicing robotic riveting machines at Gulfstream.

Initially I took a $30k/yr cut in base salary but it was worth it. Great benefits, overtime and bonuses have already bridged more than half the pay difference and a recent pay raise after a 6 month review already has me almost back on track. Not to mention I dropped a 3hr/day commute and $8k/year fuel bill. On top of all that, in the next month or so my company is also moving us to Savannah so we will be 2 hours closer to all our favorite ride spots.

2013 wasn't the funnest year for us but all the hard work and sacrifice will pay off in the future.

Got my B1 on the water after almost a year tearing it down and rebuilding it. Hopefully I can get it to run properly in 2014!

Luckily I like you. Otherwise I could break news to a lot of people for you.

As much as I regret the ski I chose for the price, I bought my first superjet and really had a ball riding every single weekend. It was my first year that I was able to take the sport serious and really fell in love with it. A big part of that was this community. If it weren't for the countless hours on this forum getting inspired each new day by all of you crazy bastards to push harder in my riding, I don't know if I would have the passion I do for this sport. So you could say discovering the X was one of the best things that happened to me this year. I also discovered flaming gorge, which will be our family trip destination for years to come. What an awesome lake to ride.
