It was actually like the middle of March before we actually ordered. I just didnt want this thread to turn into a WDK bash thread. It took 2 weeks once it was on a truck.

The bottom line is that if you order something VERY VERY custom and assembled it will take longer than what I ordered. There is no pissing match to be had here, the details are always left out of these posts. Lets get back to how awesome these boats are gonna be. :Banane01:

Hey man, I was just trying to hold back the dogs for you!!!
You know I'm stoked for you and Toby!!! I'm definitely NOT bashing! The way you ordered it definitely helped your build time and it lets you do some things the way you want before assembly and foaming . I've got to come out there and ride those when they are done... Or better yet ship them here so I can haul them to Pismo for you! :arms: :arms: :arms:

Nice!

Make sure you seal her up good!

What kind of glass?

What Kind of resin?

How much?

Should be a fun semi light weight

Have fun with it!

Just a wet layup Fiberglass (chop) best I can tell. I will glue her on up tight fo sho.. It will be at least 45# lighter than a dry OEM SJ hul & hood combo and hopefully much stronger. It definateley looks K/A

how much money does it save you tp put it together yourself? IT saved a ton of time thats for sure.

I cannot say for sure how much $$$ it saved, this deal was discussed for 2 mos. before I ordered. I started talking to him after Daytona, then ordered mid March so the details on costs are a blurr. He will adjust and adapt to your budget and needs if you discuss it, this boat has an awesome Platinum Pearl gelcoat (costs more) I did not use some thing and added some things so it can be negotiated to your specs. and budget if you take the time to do so. If I throw the cost of my hull (which was also a 2 hull package) up here and leave out some details than wrong assumptions can and will be made as to how much yours would cost. Just call or email Jeff and he will get you hooked up with pricing, he loves to talk about this stuff and knows pricing off top of his head, no hassel bargining.

Your a 92lbs + 10lbs for reinforce+ plumbing + glue +10lbs for foam now your at 112lbs+ probably.

Stock dry hull and hood is around 125-130lbs? I would say your realy only going to save 20lbs at best......

Just my opiniion..... not trying to rain on anyones parade.

I weighed 2 stock Dry SJ w/ hood, foam, exhaust, waterlines and thats it. Both weighed in at 145# no footholds, no tubbies. This one is 92# and There will in no way be 10# of reinforcement maybe 5# with glue to assemble (this is a flatwater boat) foam cant at more than 5#, exhaust tube and waterlines no more than 5#, this means 107# max which will be a min of 38# savings. My current hull has Tubbies frenched in which is another 5#. It will be worth it for sure.

I think you hull should be around 80lbs put together, foam plumbing and footholds.
that would be a weight saving's?
it sound's like your still going to be around a stock weight...

you also have to take into account what condition the boats in at the end of the ride :sneaky:

my shiets solid! Just a little bondline crackage.... nothing out of the norm.... that kind of stuff happens when you go big :cat37: Butti, Tim, and Nick will tell ya  My boat has held up pretty strong!

My boat is soon to be better and stronger then ever! It may weigh about 5lbs more  There is alot of Gelcoat on a SJ! :sneaky:
