Hand signals/communication while riding

Ok, so I cant believe this has never been talked about...at leaset not that I could find....

ride out a TON this past week....and realized,....the only "true" signal that I know of to be universal is tapping your head to signify heading in....

I think a system of hand signals (1 hand would be best) for communiction during riding....can be very difficult to talk to your buddies ESPECIALLY out in the surf....you might have a helmet on, windy, engine noise etc etc......

So, lets develop a system of communique:

1. tap your head/helmet--------->return to base
2. thumbs up-------------------> everythings cool
3. thumbs down------------------> everythings NOT cool/engine troubles

things I was thinking of would be:
need fuel
surfers in the water
shark alert

come on guys, we get a decent list up and i know it'd be worthwhile....

a good shark one coud be a hand up like a fin and move it back and forth.......

the whole reason for this is I got a little too close to shore one day and there were a couple of rogue surfers.......Had to warn the posse but didnt know how!

For surfers in the area - give the Hawaiin Shaka sign... you know, the hang loose hand signal... pretty universal I think. Shaka, then point to where the surfers are.

that's a good one

If I'm having engine trouble I usually "slit my throat" cause that's what I feel like doing at that point. Plus the look in my eyes is usually a pretty good give away.

Also, we used to use opening and closing your hands a few times to warn of sharks or gators in the area... Like you would if you were doing shadow puppets and trying to make a dog or gator or something like that.
