Just wondering if anyone is running the group K 849 big bore kit and what they think of it for freestyle riding?
I heard that its not worth it, because of how much port volume you loose. Thats just what I heard!
Really? That is hard to belive with group k work because they always seem to work every little detail out and if anything does not match up right they scrap that part or bail on the whole project. I would like to hear more.I've heard bad things with it too - a tuning nightmare
I've got it.
I run it with a wet pipe, blackjacks, and Solas Mag.
It screams. Absolutely rips.
It's not really ported for freestyling and Harry likes to keep it a little conservative so my advice would be to send your engine off to Art at Jetworks in the offseason if freestyle power is what you're after.
if you are interested in going big bore of having more work done, try talking to Steve and Kommander. he has extensive knowledge on the kawis and is worth talking to.
he has made the wifey's SXR haul, has alot of bottom end and we are using the stock pipe too.
don't forget about the DASA cylinder
very hard to read your post with that distractingly beautifull picture next to it!if you are 8k', why not try throwing on an ADA head or something and change the domes
i also think the stock pipe is a limiting factor with the larger CC's
i like the simplicity of it, but if we do steup i will get rid of it for a wet pipe
even with the setup now, next year i may just do that

Don actually types words, I just thought it was random letters in no order. I have never looked at what he types.
I have examined a GroupK 845 cyl, it should be very good for freestyle. It has a lot of trapped volume and upward angled transfers. It will be running soon and I will post some thrust and rpm numbers.
