For the 500gph Rule, do I just scuff the hell out of the hull and glue the blue strainer to it?

How much 5200 do I use? Will it clog the bilge pump?

I remove the mounting bracket.

then scrape the bottom of the bilge pump on the driveway ( it roughs it up well)

then use sanding pad in the hull where you want it to stick.

then wipe the bottom of pump and hull with acetone.

then squirt your glue and stick it in place.
DONT USE so much it goes up in the pump.

I also use PLII construction adhesive ( caulk tube from lowes) instead of 5200 since it dries quicker.

you can't rough it up to much. prep is key. 36 grit for the bottom of the hull and the pump base. I just fit the pump up how I want it then take the base off and glue it down. that way if you get to much 5200 on there you will know it and can wipe it out.

I actually don't rough it up a ton. This way, if a tab breaks on the pump base or I need to remove it to do some work on the driveshaft, it's easily removed.
