Go Pro HD VS Kodak 570

well since I dont have a go-pro I thought I would waterproof my kodak 570 , its only 3/4 inch thick so i took some ''optically clear plexi'' , milled it out and trimmed it up ,glued and screwed and mounted to my visor well above my line of sight and this is what I got , camera takes nice video with lithium batt and as big of card as you want to stick in it , we''ll see this summer the total outcome but here it is solid mounted and'' its solid '' for sure just a lil bigger than a go pro at abut 2x3x7,, the paper is stillon the lens cover for protection and if its too scratched up later i can just glue on another plate.

That is the v570 dual lens . and the visor has xtra screws drilled into the helmet , It is as solid as a rock absolutly no viboration or flex ,its actually mounted on a bind '' under tension '', BTW I wont be rollin or backflippin so its good to go , Im sure it can take many impacts before requiring a new visor !! this is not the first time I have ever mounted anything ... but time will tell .. just because go pros come off does not mean my mount will follow suit !!!!! this pics shows the double o-ring on the end '' you can only see one ''

How do you operate the camera?

push the video button , slide the camera in , tighten 2 thumb nuts down , install on helmet and tighten 3 wingnuts down it will record till the card is full . . the reason I did this was this lil camera takes nice vids ... so it was a fun no investiment project , Ill take the 300 bones I saved and put it twards the TBM flywheel I want .

Not trying to be a hater bro but at less than $150 its pretty hard to beat a Go Pro. Your camera case looks good but your still twice the size of a Go Pro and I'm guessing a lot heavier too. Go Pros film for a hour too which is plenty enough. Riding for a hour is super fun, going over your jiggly helmet cam footage for an hour, not so fun.

No problem , This project was not to build a better camera and its not a money issue , this was just a little project I wanted to try ,the camera I have was easy to make a case for I just had to work to make it water tight and mount it rock solid ,yes its bigger than a go-pro ''NBD'' but my R@D expenditures are way way lower!!,I got $25 in the case and the camera is old anyways . again my camera wont ''JIGGLE'' at all, the visor has 4 extra screws holdin it to the helmet and the back of the camera rests against the front of the helmet ''on a bind ''and its not in the way of my line of sight .. BTW if it does not work out for some unforseen reason Ill buy a go-pro HD ! anyways I tried LOL
