KLR'S ROCK and yeah they are to heavy depending on what type of off road. I ride mine all the time on old logging road's it's no problem there.
Congrat's on the Suzuki you will have alot of fun with it.
I don't know about the Suzuki but my KLR needed woke up I piped it and rejetted also did a carb mod and airbox mod. It was night and day after that 2nd gear wheelies throttle only which is real good for a KLR.

did a little research last night and it seems unanimous that it is a good reliable ride with little needed to make it a great bike. not planning on doing any jumping or offroading right away.

Sory I missed your call the other day Justin. The DR 650 is what most gus around here call a "Big Bike" . A lot of the turkey runs/poker runs have big bike ralleys that have mellower trails for the big 350 pound bikes like yours all the way up the 1200 GS BMW's. Good bike to run dirt roads and back tar roads though. Easy atrails are fun too but don't get into anything tight or is is going to be painful.
