i personally used a razor blade scraper, some acetone, and after a little while an angle grinder....and then more razor blades....took me two days to get it all off...one of the worst things ever. of course this was on my SN and that turf had been on there are over 15 years. should have just used it as pad and turfed over it :)

Oh yeah, I forgot. A whole lotta elbow grease. and you're finers will be killing you from pushing your joints back on that chisel.

Have Fun!!! I just got done de-turfing for the 3rd time around. Wasn't that bad because I just put the turf on last winter. But turfing and de-turfing is definately the least fun thing to do to a ski. Along with de-foaming apparently.

Deturfing is a stroll in the park compared to defoaming.

i mix gas and acetone it works wonders in a spray bottle. Also use a metal paint scraper. Probably the most flamable way to do it but its the best way i have found and i have done a more then one ski this way in a day.

I used a gasket scraper tool & a mallet for most of it and a stiff wire wheel to get the last little pieces and residue off. I'm sure there is a little bit of glue residue left on the tray but I got ~%95 done in like an hour and a half...

i've used acetone and or laquer thinner...both will eat the hide off a cows arse.

Goof off

If you havent already spent your money go to home depot and buy a gallon of Goof off. It is absolutely the baddest stuff on the planet. You will be able to use whats left for other stuff. Get a 4 inch wide razor scraper with a short handle on it while your there. You will be done in a couple of hours with the job.

A heat gun. Not a hair dryer . You need more heat than that can provide.

As long as your turf is not rotting and crumbling off, start in a corner and apply heat to soften the contact cement bond and pull it up a little at a time.

I found on this site that you pull off as much as you can by hand then use a soft wire wheel on a drill. It worked perfect for me!!!

BEER Turf requires that you drink beer, it does not matter if you are taking if off or putting it on, if you do not have enough beer around the turf will not cooperate.

i found goof off worked a whole lot better !
