Gas premium 93 octane??? that sucks

if the chart on that site is correct, I would need a 96 octane PON gas as my Motor was ajusted to 100 octane RON. But the airtemp and humidity here is different, so that may cause some problems too.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh ok. Now I saw that Mon+Ron/2 thing #.0 wrote about. And I was wondering why shell sells its 93 octane gas for 3.13$ and the one I bought it from, it was only 2.89$. I think the Shell sells maybe 93 MON, thats why its more expensive. Caz they call it VPOWER and the VPOWER we have in Germany has 100 octane. Thats just a guess but I think thats the way it is.

I cant wait to see what JRMagoos is gonna write about all this. probably this will all be clearer for everybody after his post.

The numbers advertised in the US for road fual are *always* the PON / average.
This is all regulated by law so they can not play games picking the best number.

IMO Prices on "super" are jacked all over the place because a lot of the sort of people who buy it are not looking at the price. Definately don't assume higher price means its better.

funny Shiat. So the law says, the gasstations have to show there octane #'s as PON;
but it doesnt say:
you are not allowed to sell your premium 23 cent/per Gal more expensive than the other gas station on the same road??

No, it's bull****. The oil companies have so much power and money it's almost like a monopoly. They all work together to have the smae gas prices in the same area. If someone wanted to start their own gas business, open say two refineries, and a few hundred gas stations there is no way in hell that would happen. The top 4 oil companies have so much power they would find away to put the smaller guy out.

If it were Mr. Dubya (thank god I'm not) I'd nationalize gas. Have the US open gas stations across the country and have gas at $2.90 or lower for regular and put the evil oil companies out of business.

The only reason gas prices are so high...don't believe the bull**** the oil companies tell you...is because the oil companies have to make the investors happy. They could give a rat's ass about the american people. They just wanna make an extra billion here or there.

Don't take my remark as if I think what is going on is OK... because I don't... I think as consumers we are being force f#@ked hard. I think when it comes to a consumer good or service that impacts ALL Americans there needs to be some sort of regulation here. I mean, hey, you want to spend a butload on a non essential item, have add it and pay whatever for it, but gasoline impacts everyone, everyday... we need regulation.

That said, congress held hearings several months ago and did absolutely nothing about this... prices fell a little and everyone forgot about the problem. Now, as gas prices rise again, congress wants to hold more hearings... it's all a big BS raquet to make Americans feel like their government is actually doing something about it. When, in fact, they will do nothing. Big oil and Big (rich owned) government is doing what they want... getting richer.

I've said this before.... it's now government for the RICH, buy the RICH!!!

if the gov. was that worried about our toil at the pump they would repeal some of the taxes that we pay on our gas. they could care less just as the big oil barons could care less.
