Wow, never seen that happen to a flywheel
Are those 'buttons' screwed in or pressed in?

Whaddaya mean? :dunno:

The bendix came apart, getting wedged between flywheel and stator. I presume that the bits you call buttons are misc parts of the stator or perhaps bendix.

It's a T flywheel, so the magnet surface is continuous. It may still be good to use.

I was meaning the round things stuck to the flywheel magnet. heads from the hub bolt things. I have not seem them break off. Guess I did not notice the bendix.

That is what I love about bendixes... When they go out, it isn't just a little problem.. it is an expen$ive problem!!!

I had that happen to me once. So a new/used bendix, flywheel, and stator cost me some $$$

I love the stars on the bottom of your boat!

Send the stator to JSS, find a used flywheel for like $45 and have it lightened. Your brap will be back in no time!:fest30:

i remember that ski or a ski that looked just like it from several years ago. steve gordenker ? rode it and there was article on him in the ijsba mag. he did a freestyle routine and ended with a lobster in his mouth.

i used to read those mags over and over till i practically had them memorized

My bendix seized up on me this past weekend and brought my day to an end :(

this is the send time something like this has happened but it did not do the damage yours did.

I have a reworked stator assembly coming from Jet solutions in Georgia. Czech out the guy's website....lot's of tasty electrical stuff on there!

New flywheel ($$$)

I just noticed last night that my Bendix is toast as well.

Anyone know how much those things run? They can't be cheap.

Fock...this is getting to be an expensive summer on the water!

the bendix is not that much. I have had great luck with used bendix's. Put up a Want to buy thread in that section. Expect to pay about $40 or so.
Or look on eBay, the bendix is identical for ALL kawi's 650cc & over, All Yamaha's 650cc & over, polaris, tigershark.
A used 62t flywheel should not be too much either.

I have rebuilt a few of them in my day. If you have enough of them for spare parts you can make a decent one. A lot of times they just rust up and get seized. Nothing a good cleaning won't fix.

Don't buy an aftermarket one! They are just like starters... JUNK! Stick to OEM.
