FX1 on it's way here!

Bonzia Bob did my conversion:biggthumpup::biggthumpup:
Here's my $.02
If you really plan on dooing a 144 pump conversion, don't spend $$ on that stock pump.

I'll let Bonzai chim in with a price, but it is about 1/2 as much as the Blowsion one and is the exact same thing! complete bolt in pump. I realize that for this ski thats like 1/2 the price of the ski but it really is the best mod you can do. My motor only had a head on it when I did the conversion and I noticed a huge difference.

For now
Seal that pump to the pump shoe (yes the FX has a pump shoe). You can find FX1 Scat props here and there. They come up more than you would think, but only comes in one pitch (14-20 or something high I think) . Thats fine cause it works good. Put the stocker in the trash if thats whats in it.
Not to ruin a sale for Wideopen, but I would keep the stock pole and shorten it 2-3 inches. just my opinion
FX1 bpipe chambers a little more difficult to come across used. FP has them new for $200 if you find a headpipe and manifold cheap.

a SJ mod chamber will also fit right in with NO rubbing.........

I had some major cav action on my fx last weeknd and ended up finding a 2" wide flat spot on the pump seal....Musta missed it on first installation...

replaced it and back in action...also running the skat 14/20 and it hits nicely

once I finish my new build, I will be calling bonzai bob as well

Wow, sounds like a great deal. May be calling you sooner than I thought, Bob. We'll seal this pump and make sure the boat's worth the extra money.

Oh, yeah, sorry. It's appearance is not really very exciting. It does have all the stickers stripped off, so it's a blank slate, ready for paint ideas. I've got my pics in the photoshop process working on changing it into a plain graphic to print out and sketch ideas.

I haven't had a chance to fully "bond" with the new ski since it's brap ain't gettin' to the water. We're working on sealing the pump shoe and the prop is sent in to Impros for re-pitching.

I'll get the pics uploaded to the gallery and linked soon.

Sharon

Having trouble getting them to upload to the gallery. Will keep trying.

Aaaarrrrgh, keep getting error messages. Just will not load these pics!! Or I should say, it will not place them in the album. Appears to load but won't make the next step. I'm too comp stupid to figure it out. Any suggestions anyone?

Yeah, that's part of why I didn't hurry to post. It's typical stock gelcoat colors. Clean enough for it's age, and just stripped of decals, so really very boring. I can't get the cotton-picken' pics to load anyway, even through the gallery. My comp lists them as .jpg, but they don't load!

Aaaarrrrgh. Very frustrating. Been fiddling off and on most of the day (home today) and still haven't got it. Anyway, I'll plan on posting pics when it actually looks like something more interesting. Once the 144 pump gets put in it will likely get a cool paint job, until then, it's a bit boring to look at, so not going to kill myself or my laptop (in danger of being thrown out of frustration) to post boring pics.

Later,
Sharon

are you guys happy with your purchase? I was also wondering how long it took to get all those screws out of that crate? If you have any questions for me let me know. Oh by the way if you are going to leave the boat stock for now dave at impros recommends a 17/23 with a kick to help hook up.

Thanks! Still can't figure out why my pics won't post when others I took with the same camera posted to the gallery fine. I do like the boat, just need to take care of the cavitation. Waiting on pump seal and the prop is already at Impros, should be back early next week. Hope to have it back on the water by next weekend.

Overall, very happy with the purchase, thank you. I don't know about the crate, my hubby took it out at work to inspect it. He didn't say anything about it either way, so it must have worked fine and not been too awful to uncrate!

Thanks again for the pics and the boat!
