Front exhaust set ups?

Alright... I already know that front exhaust is loud, sucks monkey nuts, and is way overrated.:haha: :Banane01:.......But for those who do run front exhaust is there any advantage or disadvantage to running front only exhaust vs's running it with the stock rear exhaust.

Is there any performance difference "good or bad" in running front only exhaust?

I would like to ditch the rear exhaust and put a scupper in the stock exhaust location. I am trying to save some weight wherever I can, as well as experiement with different setups. Just trying to save my self some time and hassle.

ALL I was trying to do was install some cyclone footholds when I soon discovered my foam needed to be cut out.:banghead: :banghead: So now Is the time to do a scupper, and decide on my exhaust setup.

Oh...wich scupper out there doesnt leak? I know I saw somwhere someone saying there's doesnt leak a lick. Searches take forever for qick answers.. thanks

Thanks in advance.

Thats what I did and performance wise you don't gain anything. I am running a front exhaust only and a X-metal water box  not that loud at all. I like it. It will save you some weight and clean up your engine compartment. Just run like a 2.0 ID pipe and you will be good.

All scuppers leak!

i run front only with a TDR........im surprised you didnt hear it from the beach @ sebby!

it really does clean up the engine compartment...but i have a hose right now that im stretching out to put it back to dual...

I've used the Blowsion one-way and "Lowe's" one-ways. They both work. You can get a bit more creative with a do-it-yourself setup. I haven't been too happy with the one xmw scupper I put in. This was for my wife's ski. I put the threaded end in there so she could plug it easily. http://www.wavejunkies.com/gallery/...Jena Build 2006 - ride plate 001 (Custom).jpg

I think most people put the front exhaust on the left side because it's easier to route the hose that way :dunno:. I never ended up running mine after I found out I'd have to pull out the front styrofoam. It's not much, but my ski needs all the buoyancy it can get.

XFT $120.....not cheap.....is the hole scupper billet, or just the flap?

Can someone start a POLL on the Best Scupper. I tried but couldnt figure it out.

The ATP looks like it would go in the stock exhaust location quite nicely, possibly no cutting of the transom.

the whole thing except the tube is billit. mine and my buddies do not leak at all and they allow the most amount of water to exit the ski since the xft ones are 3" i belive

Front exhaust is good....those who are usually against have no reasonf or it. They are usually rec riders. If your into freestyle buy or make one. You'll notice no power gains. Throttle response is a little bit better because its out of the water, tails tand, and any monkey jump variation is way nicer. If you were to go with XMW front exhaust and water box you'd notice some diff in weight too. Plus it sounds AMAZING

Scupper.....24/7 is what i run. I like it but would much rather have dual XMW magnetics. They are soooooo nice. 2" is plenty for me....emptying out in a few seconds is fast. Seems like if you had 3" of water in your hull at anytime you got bigger probs

I have 2 24/7's out the back and mine drains really fast. If you do subs or fountains allot they are great but otherwise one scupper is sufficient. I mainly did 2 out the back b/c it looked cool

I think the 24/7's look the best anyway

one way valve
go to lowes and get the 2" sump dump drain valve. it works better than anything I have ever used... it sits recessed into the hull, and will not rip off or leak as bad as a external mount scupper.

Front exhaust
loud, annoying, messy and not needed for freeride... it helps for tail stands.... whooo hooo, I can do one w/o it... No advantages in power, more fittings that can leak and not to mention you have to remove VALUABLE foam in the nose to do this mod... I would steer clear of that mod until you figure out if flatwater is what you want to do, cause that's all it's supposedly good for...
