I'm thinking about installing a front Exhaust and converting my rear Exhaust into a scuppler. Will this be a good/bad idea?

I'm trying to think of all teh pro's and cons on this setup..
has anyone try this?

Pro's i see:
Cheaper, no need for a T, and can sell the long exhaust tube..
and it would make for a quicker install for the scuppler..

Con's:
Maby sucking alot of exhaust fumes???

Also it would be louder, not shure if thats a pro or con???

i have no idea what a scuppler is, but the rear exhaust tube on a sj is high on the bulkhead, so unless your boat is COMPLETELY full, it wont work. I had only front on my boat, used a supertrapp waterbox, wasnt any louder than a rear exhaust boat, and i dont mind the fumes.

If you're running over 200psi compression and don't wear a helmet, it can get annoyingly loud after awhile.

One tip might be to make the diameter of the outlet (and the hose) greater than 2" to make it have a deeper note. I think the smaller diameter of the front exhaust bezels currently available would create a flute (high tone) effect.

front ex only is too loud...I run it and i hate it, just been lazy to convert back to dual

For the life of me, I can't understand why you ever did that to begin with.

Now---tell me about the "bunk sliders are lethal" statement under your name...

I do wear a bell ballastic helment, i'll be right at 200psi.
i haev an alum. waterbox, not shure what kind..?

any other pros/cons

I personally love front only. Mine comes out on the top deck and is a little larger then 2.5 inches diameter. If your not standing, it will throw some fumes in your face. Mine isn't very loud maybe because it is larger? The only downside is the exhaust streak on the side of your hull. My hull is black so I don't mind lol. There is less water in the exhaust at most times to so I found it is a quicker response on the throttle. (Doesn't need to push water out the exhaust when first starting) One other advantage is there is no exhaust tube in the way when installing carbs and removing or installing the gas tank. I don't do any cruising though either. Someone that is just riding around may get annoyed with the exhaust. But for freeride and freestyle I give it an A++.

Just ride
nothing close to front only though, especailly with a TDR box and double expecially with a jetworks valve!!!! :shooter3:

Dude are you serious? Front exhaust with a TDR box, no wonder you hate it. Get a stock box and you will love it. I have a TDR box with rear exhaust and I like the sound because it's deep and just loud enough. Since it's rear it's plenty bearable when your riding, but I could never imagine having even daul exhaust with it. I'd have to go back to a stock box.
