Footstraps keep comming undone

I put the strap in using a method like welding the acorn nut to a washer but instead of the washer I used two small steel plates and covered the bottoms with marine epoxy and let them set, but it has not held both times
out. Is there something that would work better than the epoxy other than bolting through the ski, that's gonna be my last resport.

That is one thing I was thinking about trying next. I did forget to mention in my first post that the epoxy seems to be adhering to the plates very well but not to the fiberglass which I thought was kinda weird since it's marine epoxy. What is good way to get the tray ready for the epoxy

I think Oxnard has a bolt kit he is selling for footstrap's.

i used a lag bolt

I used my Dremel with a grinding bit to score up the tray, then cleaned it up before epoxying in Rotaloc fasteners from McMaster. I can lift the ski off the trailer with one foothold.
