Footholds in a js550???

Has anyone put footholds in a js550 or comparable ski? I picked up a mint 88' js550 this afternoon and before I could get it loaded in my truck a coworker snatched it up from me. He asked about putting footholds in it. I thought it would be a waste of time and money but to each their own I guess. So does anyone have any pics? His questions got me curious about seeing some pictures of footholds or any other "new school tricks" in an "old school ski".

hahhaha yeah i did with the ones i cut out of my superjet. the kids who owns it has 24/7 foot holds, 650 swap into it and a bunch of other cool things for how old. its an 87

Footholds in a JS550

We put footholds in my son's JS550 this summer. It does help with control since the tray is so narrow and allows you to throw it around. The cost of the holds, padding, turf, and glue is far greater than the cost of his whole ski.

You can see the 99% completed holds on the black ski in the attached pic.

We took some build pics, but I don't have them at my office. Email me at drodabaugh@pilgrimintl.com if you want me to look for them. The install was pretty easy.

I forgot to mention that we relocated his extinguisher to under the hood. We had it out in breakers and it has not come loose (to my surprise). The old fire extinguisher tube was sort of a pain to dig out.

I like seeing the old school rides with a new school twist. Right now I'm knee deep in my SXI project and trying to get my clothing line started.

My friend has them in his 650SX. that ski is sick... Its got a Van Halen 5150 paint scheme too. Awesome hahaha

yes it deepened the tone alot.

made the hand pole myself as well as the tray mods

the wider tray was a godsend for landings, alot more stabil
