Water gets under the turf when it gets worn or tore glue comes loose pieces fly off from under rotating rolls, things like that.
Abuse just takes its toll on it real quick.

ok, So I'm done finally! I didn't turf the rails. Let me say I was doing awsome on the turf till I had to turf inside the holds.. ya that screwed me.. :headache: looks ok but oh well.. second issue is I think I should have either not put padding on the top or cut it in half.. I cant wedge my feet in as far and deep as I would like.... SO I think I will have to try it an see, and maybe redo the inside top part.. I dunno if when it gets wet is will be easier to wedge in.. but now its tight and I cant get all the way in, at least it doesn't feel like it. here are the pics

I rode them today and there awsome!!! So much more control to do air tricks!! Still might have to sand the turf down a bit like feet to fit in a bit deeper. Over all well worth the time!!!:Banane57:

Nothing. The glue is already dry by the time you put the turf on. It doesn't have to dry.
It's instant stick-on.

Are you familiar with the use of contact cement?

ya, what matt e said.. you brush it on the ski, and back of turf. then wait a couple minuates and stick it on. and it stays put! Then I used a rubber mallet and hit it all down good.

i must have been doing something wrong when my stocker mats came off on the gunwhales..

your suppose to glue the mat and glue the ski.. wait 10 mins or so before pushing it together ?

ya, I sanded the ski obviously,, then sanded the back of the turf a bit with 60 grit. Put glue on both parts. It was pretty hot out, so I only had to wait a few minuates, then stuck them togeather. worked great! :beerchug:

you wait until it is dry to the touch, there is no set time.

hey CF, another option for the footholds is to turf them in one sheet, just heat the turf up and wrap under........ good job though.....

you can sand the inside for your feet, but put your riding shoes on, soak your feet in water when you go to test the shape and fit.

ya, I think just a bit of clearence up top will help me get them in further.

also found out I cant use that stock corner molding piece. Water was catching on them and spewing up into the tray!! It looked like water fountains, spewing up into the tray! I think I'm gonna turf the corners to where the stock molding starts.

I'm not gonna turf the entire rail jsut around the back to where the stock side guards start. Cause the corner caps I put back on catch water now and it causes it to create two fountains on either side of the ski which spew up and into the tray. plus it crates alot of drag in corners.
