man,I love helmet cams!I can't believe how big riding still is in other places. It's all but extinct here-not sure if it's the lack of waves......or warm weather......or sunshine.....or all the unemployment.....or the young getting old way too fast.....you guys have it made-I'm so jealous!

Moondance

Just plain me....
Were we supposed to be watching the racing or #1 Fan "gracefully" checking for hidden objects in the water:wink:

Great stuff on the helmet cam....

I like that Rob sounded genuinely concerned that the woman fell while trying to help.

Maybe it's this: I used to tilt my head down to keep some spray/sun out of my eyes while racing, but if you're setting the camera up on shore, you're not doing that so it ends up pointing downward some? Just a guess.

thats exactly what it is........ same thing happens on street bike clips if u watch the helmet cam footage...... it usually tens to be adjusted when standing up and looking forward but then people get on the bike and are leaned over more and it affects the cam setting........ we found that mounting the camera at eye level on the side of the helmet was best to avoid this (but u had to keep your shield down to do so)......... but in reality the only way to truely solve the issue is to test run alot...... and adjust the camera according to what it looks like on the video ..... u also have to have a very video conscious filmer...... u could tell in alot of footage we had gotten in the past exactly the moment in the footage when the filmer stopped thinking about filming and thought about riding.......

any helmet cam vid's from the nat's?

Outdoor Channel was using one alot. But I am sure we wont see that footage until the show airs. I kinda regret turning down the oppertunity to wear it. :( However, atlest the guy that lined up next to me in the main had it on.
