Finished up the SN Superjet today , the local dealer did not want to deal on price on that start stop switch at all , so I ordered one from Leaders Marine , even not paying tax at the dealership it was still cheaper from Leaders , free shipping and it got here with a quickness as well .

It turns out that at some point someone was monkeying around with this and routed the wires wrong , in the rubber piece at the top of the cable bellows it has three large holes and one small hole , the small hole is for the white plastic vent tube end to go in , the start stop switch wires got routed through the small hole and over some years it damaged the brown wire .

I have bunches of junk switches here I am going to cut the brown wire up top somewhere , solder in another brown wire , shrink wrap it and pull it back through the sleeve with a piece of small diameter weedeater line , the internal parts on this switch look like brand new .

The customer was given his options and he wanted a new switch installed , I accommodated his wishes.

Pulled the 650SX apart, it ran hot, I mean really hot , I think he knocked off the flush hose when he put the hood on , or something along that line anyway , the head bolts were very loose and the head lifted right off, scoring marks on the pistons and cylinders, time for an overbore and freshen everything up, crankshaft looks like brand new , this thing is extremely clean , I love working on clean freshwater stuff like this.

I was working today and a Black gentleman pulls up and starts honking the horn, I went to see what he wanted, turns out he drives by here and sees all the Seadoos in the yard , he said he noticed they were always different skis and wanted to know if I have one for sale, I pointed out the 97 GTX I am working on right now and gave him a completed price of $1800 he didn't flinch at that price and said let him know when it was ready to sell , it doesn't mean anything in the scheme of things really but at least I have an interested party now.

I know man 105 here today! If I move from the broken ski to my workbench I have to turn the fan and make sure it's blowing right at me. My wife keeps the office door shut and window a/c on max!!

thx for the post with fuel pump, but way beyond that point , that was all done ...not the first rodeo :) .

no air leaks ran fine with another carb , leak down test showed no leaks.

yes these carbs are funikilicoriceers and have their own agenda , unfortubatly they are dealing with me ocd and curious to obtain knowledge.....

Today utilized the blue line flapper ( check valve ) and increased pilot ie low to 1.5 turns with the 8.7 mm spring and she came alive ......

low jet is stock 75 , still have a dirty spot in the transition between low and high but at least holding idle and with a little feathering can get full spectrum.

I have cleaned worse before, I have had them so bad I had to beadblast the inside of the carb before , as long as the screws will come out it's usually fixable.

As for your carb problem, I remember having to go way out on the low speed on the 38 I was running on the 650 before it came to life.

thx , i do appreciate the advice ... but the further i go out on low speed should i not start upping the pilot for 75 to 80 ....

Yes i think i can save the carbs

yes you really shouldn't go past two turns without going to the next size jet .

I have a bunch of that old Polaris Fuji stuff here I will never use , if you get in a tight LMK .

Still on hiatus , I had to take the Superjet back late Wed afternoon, I wit till it's late because it's blistering hot here and the Trackers AC has never worked since I have owned it , I think yesterday with the heat index it was like 105 , pretty much the same today , today I had a lake call near Alex City 2007 Seadoo starter solenoid replacement , replaced the solenoid Seadoo still wouldn't start due to the battery being too low , when I talked to the customer she didn't understand why it wouldn't start after the put a new battery in a month ago , um because the starter solenoid was dead , no couldn't be , I make a living going around installing parts that they don't actually need lol.

Then she said well I have to take that battery back , no lady , charge the damn battery and go ride , well something is draining it down, yes I said It's a Seadoo they have a parasitic draw from the gauges , they do that when they sit for months without riding them , again charge the damn battery , damn some people.

On the way back I stopped by Children's Harbor thrift store , the local Seadoo dealer off loads new old stock to them, I paid $11.00 for a folding camping chair, a bran new looking Maglite flashlight , and a pile of NOS Seadoo parts , some were not marked I got those for 25 cents a piece , the Maglite was $5.00 the folding chair was $1.00 , I will leave it in the truck in case I need to sit down and work on something at the Lake . I scored a couple of brand new switch housings for older Seadoos in that pile of parts a 951 exhaust gasket , a new rear electrical box seal and a bunch of other stuff.

It was so hot I pulled my shirt off and soaked it with water , same with my Mission hat, I also pulled the roof off of the Tracker , when I finished at the lake I went for a swim , again to cool off , seriously the heat is so bad it make me physically ill working out in it .

I stopped in at the beer Island looking for Rolling Rock , they don't carry it but I stayed in there a while looking anyway, I really need to get a chair to sit in next time. I know where to buy Rolling Rock so I did , one is in the freezer chilling as we speak.

I brought home two jet ski trailers , one stacked on top of the other one and strapped together , that was some fun right there out in the heat , bothe trailer need bunks, lights and new wiring , the smaller one needs new tires . Now I have a trailer to put the 97 GTX on and get it to the pressure washer , lake for water testing etc, etc.

No both are off brand , on the bigger one I can't tell what brand it is but it'ss kind of flimsy if you ask me , my trailer test is can you put your foot on it where the trailer angles forward and get any flex there , on this one there is a lot , I had a Seadoo 4 tec on it but it's too heavy for this trailer, with something like that 97 GTX it should be fine .

The other trailer is a Sports trailer , we sold a lot of them at the Seadoo dealership I worked at , it has no flex there at all but something like the GTX is pretty much max size on it also , I have several Karavan and Shorelandr lowboy trailers here , I even have two aluminum Karavans , I try to pair the low dollar skis with low dollar trailers and save the Shorelandr and Karavans for higher dollar skis.

I have a customer that just bought a 2010 Yamaha VX cruiser last week , it's sitting on a jon boat trailer , it's sketchy at best , we are working on a deal on one of my Shorelandr trailers and I take his in on trade , it would be fine for one of my really low dollar skis or since it has that massively long tongue on it I may just keep it for a shop trailer , that long tongue will come in handy for backing in shallow ramps like the one my brother has at his place on the river or I might even be able to get into my pond with it .

I am supposed to be recovering seats today , the guy brings me this, I had already seen pics of it and I passed on creating a new cover for it, the old cover is too degraded for a decent pattern and these seats are a monster, I told him to get a new OEM seat cover and I would install it .

The seat gets here and it has about ten lbs of water in it , the foam is glued to the base and it has slots in it that webbing with plastic clips goes through to hold it down , it was supposed to go out today but there is no way to make that happen, it has to fully dry out before I can install the new cover , and the bottom has to be completely dry to stick it back down with contact cement, I am not looking forward to this one , like I said it's a monster .

I found a brand new tire mounted on a rim that matched the one on this trailer , so yesterday I demounted one side and put in a new valve stem then put it on the trailer, the trailer light kit came in today so by end of the day I will have the bunks recovered and the lights installed , both rims had the lug nuts put on backwards , well at least they were tight lol.

I also have this GTI seat in to recover, I am trying to save the yellowish green piece, that color will be impossible to match up.

I was shopping at ollies a few months back and picked up a roll of black 5 x 7 carpet that looked identical to bunk carpet , it was made by Broyhill and I think it was $18.00 a roll , that's what I used to redo the bunks and it worked out great , these are 6ft bunks so I had to use the 7 ft side of it, one roll will cover about 6 bunks if you don't screw it up. they had many different colors and patterns in there , I went with basic black .
