reinforcing a square nose should be the same as a round.

A baseplate the same size of the bracket will still be functional. It distributes the force through the entire area under the bracket, not just the four small points where it's bolted down. If are going to glass your ski though, add some under the bracket, beef up that area some.

yeah, just useing the stock under brackets just to form fit it then cranking my two pole bolts down, when i lifted the pole i could see the nose area just flex upward

when i did my bracket area last year i had every thing out and spent lots of time looking inside the nose area w/ a flash light and a roller.. I think i got it pretty covered good i went crazy w/ the glass..

The square is a little different than the round I belive...
on the square there are those two parts on the side of the handle pole bracked that stick up on the deck side, but are large voids when looking from the underside, and thinking about laying glass there. I filled it with filler before reinforcing there on that black square nose.

Surfgy, you are more than welcome to swing by and check it out. I think Jerry will be pulling that apart this week or next and it would be a good time to see how it is done. he is also doing glass work now...so up...maybe if you bring him strippers and beer he could give you a hand. I would help also...but it seems I forgot how to work on jetskis...
