Either will work, if it is a superjet use epoxy resin instead of polyester. You wont need much to blend them in. I would recommend screwing them in with some SS screws also. You dont have to but it helps to bind them down while the resin sets up.

Thanks, I got them riveted in before I put it away for the winter. I am going to be getting ahold of US Composites to get the epoxy resin and the foam to finish the job.

Use the cloth (left hand picture). It's a lot more flexible which you'll need for the positive corners, otherwise it'll just keep peeling up

Can you do stuff only involving the top deck with poly resin on 96+ superjets and FX-1 hulls since they are already hand laid made with poly resin? I know the 90-93 SJ's were some funky other stuff, and I have no idea what the top deck of 94 and 95 SJ's are.

That being said I did all my footholds and tray re enforcement with epoxy. I was just thinking out loud.

This site says in it's surface prep section:

Fiberglass

1. Degrease with mineral spirits, MEK solvent or TSP
2. Abrade with sandpaper or other abrasive medium
3. Remove dust with tack rag
4. Do not wipe with acetone

Some other sources I have read say specifically to use acetone and these guys go out of their way to say not to use it. I am about to reinforce a hull this weekend and am wondering what is the correct solvent to prep the area with???

I currently have acetone, toluene and paint thinner in the man cave and was hoping to use one of them...

acetone will disolve epoxy. So if you are using epoxy dont use acetone for anything.... If you are using polyester resin you can use acetone...

For footholds and anything on skis I would use epoxy. It is simply the best product, strong+flexible, best adhesion, and fairly easy to use...
