Nah... I will come next year perhaps. I will take a raincheck haha. Too bad we dont live closer, or we could help eachother do the work!

Amen. I will need some help I'm sure. I'm going to do the footholds first so hopefully I get a feel for it before I start doing the stuff people will be able to see.

You will need more than a yard if you want to put it on both sides, bottom, and reinforce tray as well as cut strips for misc. other reinforcing... I'm not a pro, but I have read a lot of threads... so I guess I know a little bit even though I have no real experience yet.... in the tech FAQ section on the very bottom post a guy throws out rough measurements of the hull. Buy more than you need... you can always use it later if you have extra....

I really only want CF anyway for the "Bling factor" Sad, yes, yes it is. So all I need it for will be the bond line on the inside where the engine is Above and below the line), and under the engine from the fuel tank to the bulkhead, and I guess I might as well do the bulkhead while I'm at it.

why reinforce the bottom? no need IMO.. but if you wanted 2 it would be...

Well, it was more to clean it up. I don't really want to paint the inside of the ski, and while everything is out, and im spending so much on doing it right, i'd rather just cover it in something and add a little strength while I'm at it.

I'm just going to do some thin stuff I guess.

a yard is 53 bucks i think... 2 yards + all the resins for me came to 165....

i reinforced, i wrapped my old pole, i made a CF jewelry box for my g.f. , made a half ass intake for my ski, started to make a custom holder for my navi in my car, and i STILL have ALOT left over... 1 layer does so much!

holy crap...

lol thanks! ill have to scam some from all you guys in daytona :( poor me cant even buy beer unless i go up to canada....

as for the bottom.. i bought this intense cleaner which practically bleached the bottom.. how bad does ur inside bottom look?

Pretty bad, it's just got oil and what not soaked into it. It's either going to get painted or covered. I figured covering it would just be easier, and more resistant to noticeable stains in the future due to the darker color.

What cleaner did you use?

Sounds good. :D

Question... when you order a "Yard" What dimensions does it come in? That's what I'm wondering. I guess it would be 50" wide, and whatever length it would take to make (36"x36") 1,296 sq inches?

lol this is gunna be funny when i tell you....

its called AWESOME... its a Dollar store product...

Small world. That's not strong enough for what I am wanting. I use the equiv. of that on a daily basis. I detail boats, and I use Awesome Orange, same thing, just smells like citrus, and they give you more Oz for your buck ;)

It's pretty sad.... strong cleaning chemicals give me a chub! I admire a degreaser that eats off paint, and will burn your skin. The awesome stuff won't come close. It will dry your hands out though, and it's great for cleaning clothes! :)

Aaaaand if you work at a car audio shop, you will know the pain im feeling right now installing all new door speakers, a 4 channel amp for them, and a headunit into my 02' Land Rover Discovery. What a PITA! Anything on that dreaded piece of ******** (That I love dearly) is a bitch and a half to work on.

I REFUSE LAND ROVERS AT WORK.... BECAREFUL OF ENGINE WHINE!!! its a terrible thing....

You need alot to keep the whine down.... pm me if you have issues or concernes with it.. ive done about 5 of them...more or less for buffalo bills players

Yea, those high output coils sitting right at the firewall RIGHT behind the radio are a bitch.

And tips for avoiding it? I've got the door panels out, and grinding the holes a little larger for the components now. Haven't started the stereo yet. And to make it worse, it's a Pioneer cd player which in my experience is a little more temperamental to avoid whine.... hehe, I always get myself in pita situations.

make sure to Ground LooP isolate the RCAs, Make sure to Not use factory radio ground but a chassis ground, make sure ur AMP grounds are MINT, USE EXPENSIVE RCA CABLES!!!!!!!! dont cheap out on wires and RCAs they are the main factor to engine whine....

btw what set up all together are you doing? amp, speakers, wires, radio... brands and models please! lol its my life besides jetskiing and this time of year i dont see car audio.. just remote starts for the blizzards and cold up here in buffalo

Ah, an old Pioneer Deh-p6600, Arc audio components, can't remember the series, I've had them for a while waiting to go in, and A JL 300/4 to power them.

Probably end up getting the steering wheel control module so I can keep those, and the input plug in for the ol' cd player so I can hook it up to the ipod. simple simple, I'm not really interested in that sort of stuff anymore. I just want something better than stock.

I will probably end up doing some type of hidden sub install with the leftover glass I have. Probably won't end up doing anything more than a single 10 or 12, probably an Alpine Type R with 500.1 JL I have laying around here. Something cheap that sounds good. :)
