Not bad not bad at all.. if you ever need anything lemme know.. i know car audio stuff gets REAL expensive.. ill hook you up with a LITTLE over dealer cost.. which is like 75% off what you would pay at a major place

You are the man! :Banane09:

I will order my cables from ya, no doubt. It will be a little while though. I'm taking my sweet time on the rover, and the sj comes first :beerchug:

Alright, now I think instead of carbon fiber, I'm just going to add some pigment to the epoxy so it will be nice and clean in there, and I won't have to paint or lay cf over anything.

thoughts?

Either will be fine... if you're on a tight budget just to the FG... if you don't want to worry about kicking yourself in the nuts later for not doing the CF then do the CF... you might end up not caring anyways... I personally wanted to try the CF just to get the experience and hopefully get a little more reinforcement and "bling" like you said.

I'm torn as to what to do :bad3:

xeon you ever check out www.fiberglassforums.com ? We do alot of custom car audio as well. Every now and then I will pick up a little trick or two from the forums. Its like every forum, a few really know, alot follow, and a few need to play in traffic.

I should be riding today... Keep this post going, Im going to start on my new ski in a week or two. Waiting on a few parts and then the glass begins!

Hey Kennay, Im in North Carolina about 2 hours from myrtle beach, Im thinking about reinforcing my ski in feb (After I get my tax return back) maybe we could get together for a re-inforcement party? And possibly find some one in there area who's done it before to give us a hand???

Cool. I'm actually in Little River, right at the state line, so it's even a little closer. I'm not too worried about getting it done right, but if you want to ride up when I do mine, feel free! I have a pretty good idea, I just need some hands on. :439:

You ever get to ride the surf anywhere close to you? Maybe we can all meet up and go riding sometime as well.

okay i have a dumb question to ask here....i didnt realize i could tint the resin, and i already have on side of my ski reinforced...

i was thinking i wanted it solid white instead of the yellowish resin/cloth look and the carbon piece underneath

i might just leave it though

just wondering if i could paint it or anything

Mix the pigment into the epoxy, and brush a super thin couple of layers over what you already did, like painting.

You could prob. paint it too... the epoxy would kinda be like putting a gel coat on in a way like kennay said... for paint if you did it that way- I would lightly scuff up the last layer you did after it has enough time to completely cure and use appliance paint... that has pretty solid stuff... maybe something like a brake caliper or engine paint would work good too? Something resistant to gas/oil... I have not done either of these, but it is what I would do if I was going to do it....

i like kennays idea.....i wish i wouldve done more research on it before i did reinforcement....i already have one side done and just got finished doing the filler/carbon 7 inch piece tonight on the other...just have to lay the big sheet down on the last side.

i dont really want to wait on pigment to get shipped to me, and i dont even know where to begin to look for it locally, plus i have other stuff i want to get done and im ready to be done fiberglassing lol...

i would like to go the paint route, but if there's even the slightest chance it will peel off im just gonna leave it

thanks for the ideas guys
