Yes at only 1/8 open the waterbox and the center bleed tube get pretty hot, and will melt foam. Not instantly but def over time, and the more WOT the less life you get out of it. On mine, after only one season the foam is trash and must be replaced for next years race season. I think I paid 70 bucks for new foam last time, so its not terribly expensive. I've spent more stupid money than that chasing horsepower! Plus it keeps the engine compartment looking spiffy lol
