Well I may as well start the thread. I just picked up an old rn that I am doing a winter project on. This is going to include defoaming, shortening, and adjustable footholds as well as a new paint job.
Well I finally got to work on this ski again i decided to cut the tray out and start on the defoam and man I am glad I did as I was cutting the try i was being hit with water and when i pulled it up there was water on top of the foam the pics are how far I got tonight for bout 2 hrs of work.
I got a wire wheel after it this after noon and made some progress on it still have more foam to get out and the tubes are being a PAIN with it having dual scuppers. which both need to be replaced very intresting how they installed them tho cut two 5x3 spots on eiter side of the pump then glassed them in will post pics tomorrow i was to dark outside and battery was dieing on the phone.
here is the photos of how the dual scuppers were installed still debating on how i am going to fix this. i may reinstall the scuppers aand glass back around them like was done before or just patch the holes and then drill the 2 in hole in each side and marine epoxy around them.
ok so i have a couple questions with refoaming and glassing. do you layer the foam board in and around the bottom part of the hull or just fit it to be level with the tray? and fill the top with 2 part. and on the glass what all do i need to do all of filling the holes a and reinforeing cracks.
When i did mine i filled the bottom to about an inch below the top of the pump with foam board then i used two part foam for the rest. I did it this way so i didnt have to glass over and uneven foam board bottom
I have decided to go with bob footholds for this build so I will only have to glass the bottom of the tray back in what kinda glass would be best to use for all this!
